I am so happy for you! Please post pics of your new baby when you get her set up and ready for her debut!

Karenowc 11-05-2011 11:01 PM

Congratulations - you will love it. I've had an Ellisimo for a month now and it's pretty intuitive.
I looked at all the machines before making my choice. My top 3 were the BL E and Janome and Bernina 580. I'm glad I made the choice I did and I sure you will be just as happy.

You are right, it seems much easier than some of them.
Karen

I have been using my lovely but basic Kenmore. I mean, very very basic mechanical Kenmore.

I feel like a little kid waiting for Christmas. Tuesday can't come fast enough.

Congratulations on your new purchase. You're gonna love your new machine. Have fun learning all the new features of it.

The thing I most enjoy with my machine (Pfaff 1471) is the needle down feature! Makes applique so much easier!

Amythyst02 11-06-2011 04:00 AM

How exciting!! Post a pic of your new machine when you get your new baby home !

wishfulthinking 11-06-2011 04:30 AM

Congratulations! I'm still sewing on my old, mechanical Kenmore and just can't seem to give it up. I want a new machine really badly but can't make up my mind which to get, whether to spend all that money, etc., etc., etc. I hope you post more about how you like your new machine and what it takes to adjust to it & all.

I love my Babylock too--just a Quest--I can't imagine needing more. Congrats on your new baby!

It'sJustMe 11-06-2011 05:10 AM

So happy for you! Just googled it and it has so many great features. Wow, what a machine!

sammie 11-06-2011 05:19 AM

[I] just bought a baby lock Ellisimo. I love her. Mine had jusb pooped out/ I'm reallly excited for you. What a neat place to go and get to try all of them. I had to go to several different store dealers and try each one out.... what a great way to find the one just for you

clcoats 11-06-2011 05:20 AM

I recently purchased a new machine and one of my favorite features is the needle down!:o. Enjoy your new machine!

I am excited for you. Congratulations. happy seams to you.

Lucky you, a new machine opens a world of possibilities. I bought a drafting chair. The people don't want to pack it up. I can go get it this afternoon. Living close to Houston has it's advantages.

vickig626 11-06-2011 05:55 AM

Congrats on your new baby!! You're going to love this machine. I've used it working on Charity projects at our local sewing machine shop and my next door neighbor bought one a few months ago. It's a great machine with lots of features. I want to get one just to have the "auto-lift" feature on the foot LOL How crazy is that? I have the Esante (sewing and embroidery) and it's been a workhorse the past 3 years. Only serviced once when I cracked the bobbin case from multiple broken needles - my fault :(

Enjoy your new baby !!

What fun. It's so exciting to get a new machine. When I got my Pfaff it came home buckled into a seatbelt just like me LOL. Have a great time getting to know your new machine.

I don't blame you -- we should be able to get insurance on these higher end machines too since some of the cost almost as much as a good used car LOL

keegancindy 11-06-2011 06:25 AM

I have a Baby Loc Symphony and absolutely love it. This machine has been working it's heart out for a year now and works great. You will love it.

franc36 11-06-2011 08:06 AM

Congratulations on your new machine! I know you can't wait to get it; but it will be well worth the wait. You'll love the needle down. I sewed on a Kenmore until I got my Bernina 10 years ago. Having to hit a button each time I want the needle down is the thing that bothered me most about the Kenmore. Of course, you'll love all those fancy stitches and the other "bells and whistles". Again, congratulations!

What would one expect to pay for a Baby Lock Symphony? You are peaking my interest....:)

eastermarie 11-06-2011 11:40 AM

You'll enjoy your new machine. Do secure it well for travel back to your house.

carolynjo 11-06-2011 01:02 PM

Congratulations on your new machine and on your good deal I am sure you got on it since it had been gently used during the Festival. Enjoy your new baby!

Ms. Sewloved, Is it true you can get a much better price through a quilt show. Enjoy your new machine.

Congratulations...I have a Baby Lock Ellegant 2 and I love it. The thing I love about the BLs is you can trade UP and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg all at once - just an arm lol Wendy

emmy 11-06-2011 05:02 PM

How exciting to be getting a new machine. You will love the ease of sewing. I have the BL Quest Plus and love it.

KathyKat 11-06-2011 05:21 PM

Congrats on your new machine! It sounds like a great one from what I've read about it.

roxie623 11-06-2011 09:09 PM

Congrats!! Have fun playing with your new baby.

sewloved 11-06-2011 09:11 PM

One would expect to pay a lot. ;) LOL! I have no idea if the show deal is a better deal or not.

I paid $1800. The machine is gently used, as it was a show machine. So, used in classes during the quilt show. Comes with the 3 year full coverage warranty, extension table and more feet than I know what to do with.

The price for a new, unused machine was about $300 or $400 higher. I can't remember now.

I love Babylocks! Congratulations!!

'Sew' happy for you! Nothing puts a smile on a quilters face better than getting a new sewing machine! I have had several over the years, and I have loved every one of them. Years ago there was a fire in the woods behind our house, and it took days to put it out. We were told to be ready to evacuate. I promptly gathered our family pictures and my sewing machine and had them ready to go. The rest I decided could burn; I just couldn't do without those two things! Thankfully, the firemen were successful in getting it extinguished, but my family still teases me about 'have sewing machine, will travel:-)"

kiffie2413 11-06-2011 11:16 PM

Yay for you!! I know you are so excited!! I had a smile when you said it was like Christmas for you, because that is how I felt when waiting for my new stuff!!
Take care,
Kif
