There is nothing more fun than getting acquainted with a new sewing machine. Congrats!

I need a new machine with everything you have on yours. I'm trying to make a heart quilt with my Moms old everyday dresses(She passed away last year at 101) and I need to applique the pieces on the background fabric and wanted a machine that I could do that with. Can I do a blanket stitch with this machine? Thanks

I also have a Brother SQ-9000. If anyone doesn't know how to change the default needle positions for being in the center when the machine is turned on and for stopping with the needle up I have the directions. It's very easy to change them back and forth. Just send me a PM.

That machine also has a built in stipple stitch, and I would love to have that!
Congrats on your machine...Donna

The Stipple stich you are talking about on this machine is very small. I think you would use it more for decoration and not quilting. What do the others think who have this machine?

I have the XR-9000 and actually you can change the length and width of the stipple stitch and it will be much larger. I have had my machine for only a few months, but am loving it. I ordered the 1/4" foot and it is really accurate for piecing. I have not tried the push button mechanism yet, will have to do that, as all of you say you like it. I really like the hand-look quilting stitch too. Enjoy your new machine.

I purchased the same exact machine about 3weeks ago and so far I love it. The stitches are beautiful!

I am also happy to hear others praise it. This gives me more confidence that I made a good choice.

Also, if you purchase it from WalMart remember if you open a new charge account you will get $20.00 off. So, I saved!

Oh how wonderful. I am also needing an update. Live in a small town and they only sell Bernina. I have always had Elna - so stuck at the moment on my decision.
Hope you have many hours and fun with your new machine.

Don't have your machine, but it sounds good...enjoy!
