you be the judge.
I love a long skirt. I was thinking of making a skirt out of OBW squares! Would that be fabulous? or not |
Sounds neat!

I'm new, so I searched OBW. It is One Block Wonders everyone in case you had the same question? I think that is just a great IDEA!
|
Sounds awesome
|
sounds great

Wonder if there's a market for them!

I should get my OBW and Kaleidoscope books from Amazon any day now. |
Sounds like a neat idea. I have some long skirts that I wear with high boots (about 10 inches high) to protect my weak ankle. When wearing boots the skirt should be long enough to cover the top of the boots.
A OBW would be neat in denim or muslim or suede, with more or less matching shirts. |
That would be neat can not wait to see it
|
Would love to see a pix when you get it made.
|
That sounds neat, would love to see picture when you're done.
|
Yes, FABULOUS!!!
|
Want to see it when you're finished.
|
I have made 2 square dance dresses using quilt patterns for the skirt. I love it.

0383-02 would be gorgeous, don't you guys think? |
It sounds really cute and there will never be another one like it.
|
sounds wonderful.....and I can't wait to see the finished skirt!!! :D :D
|
Sounds like it will be really pretty.

It sounds lovely and I particularly like the bright colors with black that has been suggested. However, my practical side wonders about the weight since it will include a lot of piecing. And, assume you plan to line the skirt since you will have a lot of seams that would be exposed otherwise. The skirt will need to be carefully pressed each time you launder it. If you don't mind those issues, then go for it and post pictures.

eek! I wonder about the weight! That could be an issue.... hmmmm |
sound like a nice idea
|
Oh I think that would be a fabulous skirt! Please post pictures when you have done it.
|
sounds great.

It's a nice idea and I don't want to rain on your parade but I think you'd have a job getting it to hang right - lots of seams and bias edges in OBW. But hey, you could prove me wrong. Or you could make a plain skirt and applique some kaledioscope or OBW hexagons over it - that would work better I think. BTW the Jinny Beyer fabric is gorgeous but I wouldn't use it for OBW - too many straight lines. I'd wait til your book comes then read the guidelines on fabric choice before going shopping. :-D
