you can usually find basting spray at wallmart if they havent taking out fabric yet in your area, it's also cheaper.

I pinned a quilt this weekend, but I want to thank MTS for posting the pinmoor site. That looks like something I'll try. Has anyone used them?

I don't know about Walmart and it's brands but I would suggest you stick to a known brand like 505 which is tried and true and perfectly safe to use, even in baby quilts.

For some reason I like thread basting smoothing out and listen to music and just securing for hand work love the whole process!

WalMart carries June Tailor spray. I've used pins on most projects. BUT - I just bought a basting gun and am looking forward to trying it out on my current quilt project.

Be careful with a basting gun. I've broken a needle when it hit one of those plastic things that hold your quilt sandwich together. And they are a real pain to remove!

oh my, so sorry you can't find spray basting. I can't get on the floor anymore so i did thread basting on a folding table. I used clips to hold the quilt onto the table and basted the center, then moved the quilt and re clipped and finished. there are battings out there that are fusible too. you iron the top to the batting and then the backing.

Many longarmers will baste a quilt for you. Prices vary, but if you really hate basting you could check it out.

Spray adhesive, at Walmart in the craft section. Elmers Craft Bond . $5.95 does a good job. and reasonable.

It is a plastic gun which functions a bit like a stapler and shoots plastic thingies (like the ones that hold price tags on) through the quilt sandwich. The disadvantage is that you have to cut them off and they leave a small hole.
