The binding that is!
I usually hate doing the binding. As a new quilter I have found it the most challenging part of quilting so far. I ALWAYS mess something up. But today - I feel like I have conquered it. And what a thrill it is! I machine stitched it on the front first, but ended up joining the two ends with not enough room so it was too tight. I almost went ahead and sewed it anyways but after pinning it to the back with the bubble in the fabric...I decided I just couldn't do that. So out came my seam ripper (or in my case, handy dandy pair of tiny silver scissors) and I had to add another piece of binding on and then attach the two ends AGAIN. But it came out right this time! I ended up machine stitching it to the back as well (I hate hand stitching) and it doesn't show much because the thread on the front just falls on the edge of the quilting part (not the binding). Anyways, I said all that to say - I'm sooooo excited!! I just had to share! ^_^ |
Good for you!!!

Good job!! I have machine binded but it always looks messy. I have done some small wall hangings and hand stitched the back. It makes it look much nicer - but I don't enjoy doing it. No way would I try that on a full sized quilt!
CONGRADULATIONS!!! |
I enjoy putting the binding on and hand stitching it down. A tall diet coke, my glider rocker and my favorite TV program. Life is good.

I was always dreading the binding, too, but I found this wonderful You Tube tutorial and it has made my life a lot easier!! Check it out:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buCKs...eature=related

Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, you did it!! I enjoy the handsewing part of binding a quilt. I like to put in dvd to watch while I hand sew. It keeps my hands busy and not nibbling while watching the movie.
