Congrats! I am so glad your wait for a machine is over - what a great deal! I have a sewing/embroidery machine (different brand) and, yes, I use it for piecing and quilting in addition to embroidery. Be sure to post pics of you new baby and your first project with her!!!! Merry Christmas!

Oh congratulations! I have a friend who has one and swears by it. I know how you feel without a machine. I had to borrow one to get some of my gifts finished this year. Mine left me about 3 months ago. I have had to quit work and file for disability but I am hoping if and when I get it I can at least get something then. But we sure do miss our machines when we are without. Please let me know how you like it...Sadly I have returned my loaner but I will get one another time until then like you I will just prepare for it....Merry Christmas everyone and I wish you all the best in the coming New Year!

I paid around $2200 for my 9700 about 7 years ago. No regrets! love love love my Janome! (I have a Decor 3050 for "classes" and just purchased a Janome 1100D serger too.)

Please, no oil on the machine. They don't need oiling. I take mine in for service once a year, and he does any oiling. He showed me one that a lady had taken in where she had oiled it, and she must have poured it on, as there must have been several tablespoons of oil in the bottom. Just take the bobbin case out and brush, not blow, the lint out. You will have a treasure for several years to come.
