My quilting and stash were pretty much under control until I joined a quilting site a few years ago. Wham!! I became a person with UFOs and a stack of clear boxes stuffed with pieces of red, blue, green and every other color fabric you can think of. When we downsized a couple of years ago, I half filled a 6x12 trailer with my crafts. I haven't lived that down yet.
We've all caught a disease..... it's called quilting.... at least it isn't fatal. My poor daughter won't know what to do with all of it when I'm gone.... I think about that a lot. She's not a quilter!!

How about if you put the name of each on a small piece of paper and put them (folded) in a jar. Pick one. When that one is done, pick another.

Does anyone else have Hot DEals by Price Gong show up on your screen and block out the lower left hand corner.
I wouldn't buy anything from them now - they are really pesky.

Luv Quilts and Cats 01-01-2011 06:58 AM

I am right there with you, too. I may not get to make all of them, but they are sure nice to look at and give me inspiration.

laurac 01-01-2011 07:00 AM

these overachievers are killing us!! ;}

Drew 01-01-2011 07:29 AM

Count me guilty as well. I LOVE seeing all the quilts. However, when a picture is posted, please let us know where you found the pattern. I, usually, PM the quilter to find out about the pattern. There is so much talent here and I LOVE that you are willing to share your talent!!

Drew 01-01-2011 07:29 AM

Sorry hit the button twice!

Bernie942 01-01-2011 07:56 AM

Lots of bookmarks. Sooo many beautiful quilts on here.

As you can see, your not alone with this "affliction"! In addition to this board (which I spent WAY too much time on! LOL), I subscribe (my only addictive vice-well, not really the ONLY one!) to 6 quilting magazines and that further adds to my "OH, I HAVE to make that one" affliction! Haaaa-so many quilts-so little time!!

IBQUILTIN 01-01-2011 04:27 PM

Its awesome, isn't it? Just like cjmomma says, give it some time, and one will just keep calling out to you. Till then, make some table runners and stuff like that

Dakota Rose 01-01-2011 04:32 PM

I'm with klgreene! I will never be able to use all the things I have purchased because someone made something so pretty that I wanted to do it to. That includes my new featherweight found on ebay because of the featherweight discussion here a few months ago. I can't wait to have time to use it.

Alondra 01-01-2011 04:39 PM

That happens to all of us at one time or another. The quilts posted here are all so nice, they just make you want to run out and get the fabric and make them. Just keep a liist of the ones you most want to make, then scratch them off as you do so. But if your list is as long as mine, this could be an exercise in futility. <G> Oh, well... it's a new year with new intentions and new resolutions to break... I'd better go now, so I can start breaking some of them. <G>

I do the same thing, then I start them, one right after another and before I know it I have a pile of UFO's. But isn't that part of the fun?

Farm Quilter 01-01-2011 04:45 PM

Oh my, me too! Whenever I find a quilt I'd like to make I put a picture of it in a file on my computer...over 100 in that file right now! Should get off the computer and up to the quilting loft!!!

jojosnana 01-01-2011 04:57 PM

I think quilters must live longer than an average person because we have so many reasons to get out of bed and make another quilt......

Put all those pics on a screen saver for your computer, then take the computer to the quilting loft. How inspiring would it be to look at all those quilts popping up as your sewing!!!!

Gabrielle's Mimi 01-01-2011 05:17 PM

I clip patterns from my quilt magazines and put them into sleeves which I file in binders marked "Baby," "Christmas," "Asian," Stars," "hearts," etc. I often joke that I only hope I live long enough to make all these quilts!!!

LOL! I am so there already! Shopping for mens shirts the other day, I grabbed a whole handful on hangers and asked my friend, "wouldn't these look great in a D9P?" Is there a cure, or should I give in and start adding old flannel shirts to my fabric pile?

I'm sorry, there is no cure. Once you have been bitten by the quilting bug, there is no hope known to man. You will be a quilter for life. Welcome to our world.

Lizzytish 01-01-2011 05:50 PM

Yep this place will do that to you

tons of patterns and just keep buying more!

jan22 01-01-2011 06:18 PM

I do a copy and paste of the quilts I like, then save them to a special folder. Every once in a while I copy the folder to a portable flash drive and save them for when I need to be re energized or want to make something but can't decide what. They are my wanta make ideas. Some are actual free patterns I've found here and there and saved them to the same folder. By putting them on a flash drive you can still add to it or delete those you no longer want. If you use CD's, you'll need the rewrite able ones and those are much more expensive where the cheaper ones can't be added to. Flash drives are getting really inexpensive lately. A 4 or 8 GB will hold more than you'll ever make in a lifetime.

Tweety2911 01-01-2011 06:21 PM

I am with you! Do enjoy the opportunity to view so many works of art though!

GwynR 01-01-2011 06:21 PM

Good idea jan22! I have so many things bookmarked here and there... I could put a label on it "naked pictures of mom and dad" and the teenagers would never touch it!!! They "borrowed" all my others!

katcincinnati 01-01-2011 07:43 PM

Add me to the group

iowabelle 01-01-2011 08:31 PM

I like the idea of "naked pictures of mom and dad"--of course I live alone.
But I have enjoyed the photos here--lately I'm not seeing so much I want to do in the magazines.
I found out over the past few days that I may be having to move soon, and I started to think about what I could abandon. I was a little upset about the quilting magazines, but I do have lots of books and I could maybe take a small box of magazines--given my recent lack of productivity that would be good enough.

fink9 01-01-2011 08:48 PM

I see alot of wonderful projects. Can't start anything until after next week. Our daughter gets married on Sturday

dgrindey 01-01-2011 08:57 PM
