I have started collecting fabrics for my Postage Stamp. I know that you're not supposed to duplicate any fabrics but( ) some of my scraps have so many different looks that once they are cut into 1 1/2" squares you would never know that they were from the same fabric. Is that acceptable ???

I think this will be my "leader & ender" quilt.

Oh I hear sirens! They are gonna get you if you keep telling all your secrets!.....SHHHHH....

Who said you can't duplicate fabrics? If you want to, do it. If YOU are against it just remember ... you bought both sides of each piece of fabric so you can use both :)

I wondered that, too - but if every piece LOOKS different - why not?

I've also wondered how people keep a gazillion pieces sorted so they remember what they have and don't have.

I was thinking it might be a fun idea to cut identical squares and have people try to match them up. Sort of a grown up I Spy type of quilt.

Agree Duplicate and make a game of finding the matching piece.

I have been wanting to make a postage stamp quilt. What size are your squares going to be?

MadQuilter 09-15-2011 06:22 PM

Your quilt, your fabric, your choice. I don't think anyone is going to sit there and try to find duplicates. If they do, beat them whith your biggest ruler!

I'm making 'em 1" so I'm cutting 'em 1 1/2."
