I have a quilting frame... Now I need to learn how to use it...
It was free to me but not like the quilting frames I've seen before. I'm not sure how to post pics...

Is this for hand quilting or for machine quilting? ( For a machine, you need a set of tracks/ rails, and a carriage). For hand quilting, there are dozens of styles. Most of those have leg/ supports, and anything from 2 to 4 poles or slats.

Howdy & welcome from Texas. I can't answer your question about the frame but look forward to seeing some pictures of your work as you enter the new world of quilting. Have fun!

I have a frame my uncle built for me and rather than tack the quilt to the frame make a sleeve or wrap the frame with a heavier material (muslin or duck cloth), then you can pin the quilt to it and the quilt won't actually touch the wood. I put a sleeve on all three bars.

A friend had a wooden hand quilt frame from Grace. It was nice to load up and use. I think it would be helpful to have for tying.

I made a quilting frame for myself and attached fabric strips. I also drilled holes at the ends of the lathes and also drilled holes in the ends of the strips so I could hand from hooks in the garage. I worked beautifully.

It appears that there is a place at the top to fasten thequilt but it's only half way across
