At the home care building centers, you can get dowls of different lengths and circumferences, On some of my nature quilts, i made a pocket and stained the dowls and decorated the ends, drilled a hole thru each end and ran heavy cord thru for hanging.

For my studio I made my own quilt hanger using electrical conduit, anchors for the conduit, plastic skirt clips meant to be put on plastic hangers, and heavy trim sewn into the skirt clips in a loop that will then hang from the conduit. You can paint or otherwise decorate the conduit. I decided to leave it as it is. Hope this helps. ali My studio quilt hanging |

I sew on a sleeve (about 2 inches wide)at the top back of the wallhanging and buy a small curtain rod, like you would use in a bathroom window. Mount the curtain rod the same as you would for a curtain.
