You should need 5 4" strips and 2 3" strips to get the amount of squares in the sizes you need.
That's 26" worth of strips.
44/4=11 four in. squares per strip
44/3=14 three in. squares per strip
You should have about 10" of fabric left over give or take depending on how much you use squaring up.
Hope this helps.

Easily out of a yard. It would take a minimum of 3/4 yard so you're fine with that.

Not sure I've figured this correct but I get the following if the fabric is 45" wide x 36" (allowing for selvedge waste):

5 rows of gives 10 (to 11) 4x4 each row = 50 4x4 (20" of the fabric)
1 row w/2 4x4 & 12 3x3 (4" of the fabric)
That uses 24" of the fabric leaving 12" - plenty for remaining 3x3.

Hope I've figured this right - all you experts please correct me if I'm wrong. :?:

Have a blessed day & may all your quilts be filled w/love

Many fabrics are narrower than 45 inches -

In fact, some are barely 42 inches wide -

And, if you wash fabric before cutting, you may lose some more width.

But back to your original question - yes, you can get all those out of one yard of even the narrower fabric.
