I found a clearance on 8" wide cotton fabric trim, it's doubled so it opens to 16" wide and repeats every 8 inches. It's a bright floral pattern so works great for borders and sashing. It was $2 for 10 yards.

What a clever idea! I have bought a few because there is so much fabric in some of them!I'll have to remember to look with your idea in mind! Thanks :-D

cool, be sure to post a picture of the fabric before and after when the quilt top is done
