I missed it here!!
I am back after a long absence and I am sure I lost out on a lot and way to much to catch up on. Got sick at Christmas and thought it was my heart turned out to be my lungs. At my age (42) nothing like living on oxygen to be depressing. But I got lots done, 5 quilt tops and many mini projects (handbags, kleenex covers, shopping coupon keepers, etc.) I hope to post pictures of soon. If a super cool project was posted, please let me know because I hate to miss out on them.
Thanks, Lisa |
Welcome back Lisa. Hope your health continues to improve.

|
Glad to see you back. lots of great projects. best to go to archives and start going backwards.....you've missed so much!!!! should be fun catching up!!!

I understand!! I went into the hospital in October and have been out on disability since..it gets old real quick. I too have gotten a lot of quilting done since I felt up to it in January. Dragging oxygen tanks around is not fun to travel, but at least I can still get to the fabric store! Of course the reduced income doesnt make these shopping trips as much fun as they used to be :( I have spent some of my time teaching my 3 youngesdt daughters how to sew and quilt. If you find any fun projects let me know, and I will do the same for you!
Hope you are doing better, and have a Happy Easter

Lisa, my husband was diagnosed with heart disease at age 42 also. There were a lot of days that weren't too good for him, but with his strong will and the grace of God, he will be celebrating his 63rd birthday in a couple of months. I know you will be feeling better shortly, too. Glad you are back on the board!
|
Glad to have you back! Hope you continue with your recovery.
|
Lisa, sorry to hear you have been so ill. Just keep praying and keeping the faith. Can't wait to see the picture of all the marvelous items you have made.

Glad you are back!!! do post photos of what kept you busy in recovery! It amazing to me what can be missed in a short period of time. I was out of touch for a week and feel like I was missing out.
|
Welcome back and I too wish you continued recovery and lots of sewing/quilting projects. Teresa
|
Welcome Back! Hope you continue to feel better each day.
|
Glad to hear you're back. Being sick is no fun. Hopefully what has ailed you will not be with you long. I give the friends so much credit that when they do not feel good they can still sew. I'm waiting for gallbladder surgery on Wed and just haven't felt up to sewing-why when I don't feel good I just can't bring myself to do anything crafty? I could enjoy to my hearts content and nothing would get in the way!
|
I am glad you are back too. I have been on oxygen about6 or 7 years and really am so thankful I can breathe more comfortable. Sometimes I want to just clip the hose but do like to breath better. Hope yo get to feeling better.

God's blessings on you and continue to recover.

Lisa, I hope you continue to improve.
Here are a couple of posts on QB that particularly caught my eye recently. They don't have instructions, but both of them look as though they'd be easy to imitate and alter to suit your own style. This one posted by woody is a half log cabin with dark and light hst's - very dramatic and modern: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...s-t183633.html And this one, pieced by Prairie Quilter that was posted by Charisma is also a different twist on an old technique. I just love everything about it, especially the way Charisma's quilting enhances it: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...a-t184477.html There have been many other beautiful quilts. I think you might want to browse through the Pictures forum. The inspirations are endless. Happy quilting! |

Welcome back 'O buddy of mine.

Last year Ifound out that I needed to be on oxygen. I was told I would need the oxygen the rest of my life. It was really a downer for me but I gave myself a good talking too. I don't know when I'll be using it 24 hours a day but I will handle it when it comes. Keep up with your quilting and any other thing that is fun.
prayers to you, Carole |
