I have one of those mats that rotate and it fits in larger bag.
Great idea. Add to list

TexasQuilts: I have all of these things in my travel bag and don't use them at home at all so I'm never at a class with half my stuff at home on my sewing table. This works best for me.

6 x 24 inch ruler for measuring strips WOF
12 1/2 inch square ruler
6 inch square ruler
A small iron
A small spray bottle for water so I can spritz my seams when pressing them so they lay nice.
A small 6 plug electrical strip which is too handy for words since a couple people can plug in and you still have room for your machine and iron.
A June Taylor brand ironing mat on one side and a cutting mat on the other side. This works perfectly for pressing and cutting small pieces.
18 x 20 inch cutting mat for cutting those strips the WOF.
A Pin Cushion

I like chocolate but I also like gum, Starlight Mints, and Cinnamon (Only Cinnamon flavor) Jolly Ranchers candy a.k.a. Fire Sticks! and Butterscotch hard candy drops. The junkier the candy, the better.

A couple of different coloured pencils for marking out. Pins, thread the obvious.

If you are doing applique, some clear plastic and a marker pen to draw out your design. Think you have just about got it.

Have fun.
