There is hand-quilting thread which is different than machine thread. Gutterman thread is my choice for machine piecing and hand-quilting. Joann.com frequently has sales of 40 or 50% off their threads and also, coupons you can use on-line for regular-priced items that are not on sale. There are TONS of on-line quilting shops available. If you plan to hand-quilt, make sure the thread says for hand quilting, as it has a different finish on it and a bit firmer.
I have also heard good things about Connecting Threads, but haven't tried them.

could someone tell me....what brand of quilting thread is better

My LQS is a fan of connecting threads thread. Their fabric prices are good, too. I've seen the same spool of thread for $5.99 that connectingthreads.com sells for $2.96. I'm not sure I'm sold on the thread, but that's just me. The rest of the quilting world likes it.

You do not specify if you are looking for hand quilting thread or machine quilting thread. Also many people refer to thread as "quilting" thread when they really want thread for piecing. Anyway, here are a bunch of good sources for thread and superior threads has tons of good free info on what threads are best for what job.

I really like Isacord embroidery thread for machine quilting and I have ordered from these guys.

My favorite hand quilting thread is Valdani. My LQS carries it but I did find this on line source
