I also think it is gorgeous as is, without another border. But if you want to add one I vote for #2. Very good job, love the design and the fabrics!

I don't know if I can explain this right, but the weight of the design seems to need the wider border and option #2 gives it a beautiful finish. You know how some pictures just look better with a more substantial frame? Always learning on this board, thanks for posting another of your great informational nuggets Jan! I vote for the second one as it adds to the overall beauty, rather than detracting from the main event 😃.

I also like number 2. I love the way it makes the center of the quilt stand out. I think the first one is too busy

Two. Love the pattern and colors.

I think the quilt is beautiful as is. If you have to make it bigger I think #2 is the way to do it. If you do not have to make it bigger I would leave it as it. It is an awesome quilt.
