Adriansmom was a wonderful lady who belonged to this quilting board until July 7th, 2010 when she passed away from a long illness. Her name was Cathy Smith and she left behind a husband and young son.

I would like to make a quilt for them in memory of Cathy and as a way of extending the love of our group to this man and little boy during a rough time.

If you know Cathy's address so I can mail the finished quilt to her it would be VERY helpful.

Once I get her address, I will open up a thread to ask for quilt squares. I'm sure she participated in a swap or two so someone should have her address somewhere. We just need to wrack our collective brain to figure this out.

That is so sweet of you!

QuiltingGrannie 12-10-2010 06:33 PM

Let me see if I can get it.

QuiltingGrannie 12-10-2010 06:35 PM

They live in Omaha, Neb. although another area says Council Bluff, IA

But that is all I have - so far.

Gwyn 12-10-2010 06:36 PM

Thank you. That would be great!

sueisallaboutquilts 12-10-2010 06:39 PM

Gwyn, I would love to send a block for this. I remember her and her family but I don't have any info.
Keep us posted

julia58 12-10-2010 06:44 PM

This is so thoughtful. I also remember Cathy, hope you get the info. you are looking for.

Gwyn 12-10-2010 06:46 PM

Me too. Julie - I love that teapot on your avatar

cjomomma 12-10-2010 06:57 PM

Sorry I don't have her addy but someone has got to have it. If you get it I will be more than happy to send you some blocks for this quilt. I do remember her.

littlehud 12-10-2010 07:21 PM

There were a number of quilters that sent her stuff after her house fire. Maybe one of them still has it. She did live in Council Bluffs not far from me but I'm not sure where they moved after the fire.

littlehud 12-10-2010 07:31 PM

Sent you a PM. I think I found it.

Tink's Mom 12-10-2010 08:10 PM

Gwyn, I have an address at an apt. in Council Bluff...I don't think this is right. I think this was where they went after the fire.

quiltbugs 12-10-2010 08:36 PM

Maride 12-10-2010 09:04 PM

I have it, but will check with Arron in case he and Adrian have moved. I will PM you as soon as I have it. I will not mention anything. I contact him from time to time.

watterstide 12-11-2010 03:13 AM

you can always ask her husband..if you do a search for her name..he posted the facebook page he started, when she past on...he still posts here occasionally.

phatquilts 12-11-2010 03:43 AM

Please let us know what theme/colors/size that you envision. Gwyn, this is terrific that you would organize the quilt. Will certainly help you to make a block. It was good that her husband just sent us an update.

TN Donna 12-11-2010 04:09 AM

That is such a precious thoughtful idea. I didn't know her but I would be willing to help with squares.

Kyiav10 12-11-2010 04:49 AM

Yes, do pm Gwyn..I don't always read all the threads due to lack of time. I'd love to help out though.

Connie Merritt 12-11-2010 06:33 AM

Please count me as part of this. What a wonderful way to give comfort and praise to a friend. Thanks also for the gift we give to ourselves by honoring another.

Judie 12-11-2010 07:04 AM

A quilt is such a great gift to someone grieving.. I know.. I'd make a block too.. Just figure out the size block you want.. and what colors you're using..

Perhaps if there are enough blocks that come in.. of if they are not too small, both Cathy's husband and her son could have a lap quilt. That would really be nice.

Have you tried going to the person who monitors this site? Merry Christmas
