Today I ordered the fabric I need for my new grand daughter's quilt (due in July) from fabric.com. While browsing I saw their scrap bags. Three pounds of fabric for $19.95. I had good success with the Moda scrap bag so decided to give this one a try. They say it's approx. 9 yds. of fabric in sizes ranging from 1/8 to one yd. Has anyone here ordered a scrap bag from fabric.com?

I'll let you know what I get.

raedar63 03-16-2011 07:40 PM

OHHHHHH NOOOOOO I didn't need to see this. My weakness is scraps!

Tallulah 03-16-2011 07:43 PM

I ordered one last year and was happy with it. Most of the pieces were a half of a yard to a yard, some a little smaller. There were no tiny pieces. Good luck on yours.

BETTY62 03-16-2011 07:47 PM

I didn't know companies offered these. Thanks for the tip. Guess what has just been added to my to do list....

Granna of 5 03-16-2011 07:53 PM

I almost ordered the scrap bag, but I already had 20 yds or so in my cart and decided not to. Let us know what you get.

Nanamoms 03-16-2011 07:58 PM

Sounds like a great deal! I'll have to go look.

KatFish 03-16-2011 08:54 PM

I have been thinking of ordering one myself. Can't wait to see what you get in yours. Please post some pictures when you get it so we can all drool.

I was going for the free shipping. :)

Also, I'm working on a couple of scrap quilts and am running out of scraps. Plus I'm just in the mood for a big surprise.

ann clare 03-17-2011 04:11 AM

Love other peoples scraps.

mimiknoxtaylor 03-17-2011 04:16 AM

I love bags like that! Got one last week at the quilt show here for $2.50. It was loaded with some great pieces from 1/8 to 1 yard. Let us know what you get.

CarrieAnne 03-17-2011 04:17 AM

Sounds like a great deal!!!!!

ssgramma 03-17-2011 04:21 AM

hobo2000 03-17-2011 06:33 AM

I just used a code ABAND2311 got 15% off Thank you, thank you.

luvTooQuilt 03-17-2011 06:36 AM

Oooooooh I LOVE scraps. Hee hee glad I'm not the only one who 'pays' for scraps!!! Lol

kso 03-17-2011 06:40 AM

I am curious about how much of the fabric is solid colors. I don't use many solids. Please post after the order arrives.

Pamela Artman 03-17-2011 06:44 AM

I bought a bag of "scraps" at a quilt shop one time, just because I liked the colors, all purples and lavenders. I THOUGHT I was getting a bunch of small scraps, although I could see some larger strips or something in the bag too. I think I paid $4. When I got home and opened the bag, it was full of pre-cut diamonds in 4 fabrics, plus several cut borders. Enough for a huge quilt or two small ones. The only bad thing was that I had to iron everything because it was just stuffed into a small plastic bag! What a bargain! I'm adding a white background so I'll probably have enough diamonds for 2 or 3 quilts!

Please post a photo!

YES - and I love all four of them that I have bought. I am using one right now on a baby quilt that I am working on.

Just ordered and used the code and saved also, thank you so much. Will let you know what I get for fabric and I ordered 2 so maybe I'll get lucky and they will be different.

lynnsim 03-18-2011 03:02 AM

The last time I ordered from them, I almost ordered the scrap bag. So, I'm also curious to see what you receive. I love that site!

mollymct 03-18-2011 03:21 AM

I haven't ever ordered one but I've eyed them on many sites! Sounds fun! Hope you'll show us what you receive.

Ellie'sNana 03-18-2011 03:48 AM

Oh thank you for doing this! I have wondered about these scraps bags but even at such a price I didn't want to take the chance. Please let us know what you think!

HisPatchwork 03-18-2011 04:20 AM

I am interested also. I will be watching to see what you get.

damaquilts 03-18-2011 05:13 AM

I just ordered from fabric.com. I didn't know they had scrap bags but I need to get rid of my own first. lol
I ordered from their clearance sale. I got 8 yards of white batiste to make curtains for my bedroom Now I just have to figure out if I want floor or window sill length. But it will cost next to nothing to make. $16.00 for fabric. I will say that 2 of the fabrics were out of stock and they sent one wrong fabric. They are refunding my money and told me to keep the fabric. Good customer service. :-)

emerald46 03-18-2011 05:19 AM

Ohh sounds fun! Got one coming from Moda that I order this week. Can't wait for it to arrive.

Thanks for the coupon code. I ordered the scrap bag and a Benartex 1/2 yard assortment and the code worked plus it was over $40.00 so I got free shipping. I hope I like the fabs I get so I'll feel like it is a real bargain.

arimuse 03-18-2011 06:02 AM

I buy them all the time! they usually have 9 yrds and the pieces are good sized and coordinated! I love their scrap!!! sharet

LindaJR 03-18-2011 06:09 AM

OK, you hooked me too. I ordered the scrap bag and 10 yards of outdoor fabric to recover cushions on outdoor furniture.

psthreads 03-18-2011 06:20 AM

I have a granddaughter due in July and I just ordered fabric from fabric.com == small world

rosebeka 03-18-2011 08:16 AM

We'll have to compare notes about how our blankets are coming and when our granddaughters arrive.

I'm trying to decide between these two. What do you think? They both use a layer cake from Sandy Gervais (for Moda) called Giddy. I need to find out how to export without all the block and patch lines. It makes it hard to see the actual design.

My first choice

Second choice

Apologies if I sound a little incoherent. I just got back from having an endoscopy test and I'm still a little groggy. But at least I get to take it easy all day. :)

They're under Jelly Rolls, Layer Cakes, etc - "Stephen's Special Assortments" - ASST-170 Three Pound Cotton Remnant Assortment :)

Thank you so much for the site to buy this and also for the coupon #. Problem is, kept buying more than just the scrap bag

CherylinID 03-18-2011 11:10 AM

I would love to see what you all get too. Sounds like fun. I love both those quilt patterns, and love the giddy line. It will be a great quilt!!

scrapngmom 03-18-2011 12:38 PM

I didn't know you could order "scrap bag". I am excited to see yours to see if it is something I might want to do in the future.

That is almost as good as fat quarters isn't it? I am new to quilting so I am trying to figure out all the tricks you seasoned folks have knowledge of and use that to my advantage.

Thanks...

That's what's held me back. I didn't know if the fabric would be odd lots or closely coordinating.

bsktkeeper 03-18-2011 01:42 PM

Great site , easy to work with , great service .

Pamela Artman 03-18-2011 05:19 PM
