I too am a Janome girl - through and through. I own several as do my sisters and several friends. Great machines, good precision. Congratulations - lots to love there!!

My mom had a Janome/New Home MyExcel 23l, which Cheryl now has. I can remember when Mom bought it, although I don't remember how much she paid for it. I do remember her mentioning that it was more than she ever paid for a machine in her life, but it's lasted this long (at least 35 years) and still works like ti did when Mom bought it.

Cheryl has the MC 6650, which she absolutely loves. It replaced a MC 6500 that, after 17 years, started having computer issues. She also has a MyLock serger that she hasn't used in a while since she doesn't do much garment work any longer. She's played with the idea of using it for her quilting but hasn't really done much more than think about it.

Good luck with your new machine.

Congratulations on your new machine. I am so happy for you. I have a Janome MC6600 and love it. I bought it used and it has been working great for me for 11 years. You made a good choice in choosing a Janome. You will be so happy with it.

Sheryl, that's so exciting!! Happy for you!

Congratulations, I just bought a used just like new bernina. I just love it. I’m still learning all the things it can do, very happy with it. When I asked here about sewing machines, the women gave me things to really think about. I got what I wanted.

Congratulations! I just bought one this afternoon.

Another Janome girl here. Mine is almost 25 years old and still going strong. Hope you get as much enjoyment with yours as the rest of us Janome girls do.

How exciting! Lay away! I love doing things like that. There are no dealers near us our I would be looking real fast. The closest dealer for sewing machines is about 50 miles from here. You have to tell us more when you get this baby home.

Well, I should hopefully have it within the next couple of weeks; I talked to the store owner a week ago and he told me that they have a shipment coming from New Jersey, and one of the machines has my name on it! (We need a "turning cartwheels" smiley! https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images...es/biggrin.png )
!
I said "hopefully" because he told me that because of the pandemic it's been difficult to get some orders ,and he said they're waiting for about 50 machines right now. His exact words were "It's a good thing your order's not coming from Texas." I didn't ask him why.

I'm so excited! I'm working on a really special quilt for my daughter - I dyed all the fabric myself - and I want to be able to make a label for it with my new machine. I feel a little bit like a kid at Christmas!

Congratulations! I have a 6700 and it is a really lovely machine. It was my introduction to the flatbed, semi-industrial machines and I am so glad I have made their acquaintance. I am sure you will use the serpentine stitch a lot. It is my go-to for snuggly, not-densely quilted treats.
A couple of thoughts:
Consider adding the AccuFeed HP foot. It is a narrower foot than the standard 9mm feet and it works with the HP stitch plate. I have this and it is fantastic for sewing on binding.
Add-on the little pedal that allows you to activate the thread cutter with your foot. They call it a “remote thread cutter switch”. Since you are already a fan of the knee lift, I think you would like being able to use your hand for other things than telling the machine to cut. I have a couple of Jukis who come with foot-pedal thread cutting standard and they have spoiled me for this feature. It really is a time saver.
I hope you enjoy creating on your new machine as much as I have.
