I think it was Klue who posted the coupons for Joann's, Thanks for that, cause I needed two items. Our Joann's will let you use any amount of coupons as long as they are different amounts. So I had a 50% and 40%. Gladly went to two Joann's and 30 1/2 yards later, I came home. Exhausted and excited with all my great buys. They had bolts of 50% off clearance fabrics. $2.00/3.00/4.00 and 5.00. Now I'm trying to figure out where to put this new stuff. In the remainder of my lifetime I can never use all I have. Even if I sat at my machine 24/7. Help!!! I need to be admitted to the fabric rehab. My poor family if anything happens to me.

sharon b 10-09-2009 05:55 PM

As much as it pains me.. I will volunteer to help you with your rehab . Send the fabric to me  LOL I promise to take good care of it  :D

harrishwhippets 10-09-2009 06:00 PM

Thanks for the offer of help!! I may be taking some of you up on your offers. I was given a ton of sample fabrics from a decorator in town, stuff I am going to use in landscape quilts, and have a ton of dec fabrics, that I have no clue what to do with. Plus the scrap stuff I'm saving. I really need to do that challenge. The real challenge is staying out of the shops.

sharon b 10-09-2009 06:03 PM

LOL Its too late you are a quilter ! LOL
Fabric stores call our names
It is so bad that now when someone in my family travels
they tel me about all the quilt/fabric stores they see

joeyoz 10-09-2009 06:59 PM

Look at all that fun you are going to have with alllllll that new fabric. :D :D :D :D :D

amma 10-09-2009 07:16 PM

Hi...my name is amma....and I refuse to be reformed
If we did not spend money on fabric...it would just go towards something else much less enjoyable

crkathleen 10-09-2009 07:30 PM

Har, I will gladly come over and pet your hand and your fabric! I will lend you my shoulder to throw your fabric on to see how they go together! That sounds like rebab to me!

Eddie 10-09-2009 07:33 PM

Well, heaven forbid we should spend our $ on frivilous things like food and electricity, eh? :D Send some of that fabric on over my way, I'll put it to good use!

sharon b 10-09-2009 07:42 PM

Besides Rehab is for quiters , not quilters ! :D

Moonpi 10-09-2009 07:50 PM

And if worse comes to worse, there should be enough fabric to mummify you, right? That should stop folks from questioning your acquisitions. :D

nursie76 10-09-2009 07:56 PM

Awhhh heck! It was all on sale right! Look how much money you had the opportunity to save!!!! Can't pass up a chance to go broke saving money!

Hahaha...I really like the thought of being mummifid in my fabric when my time comes. What a fitting way to go. :D

harrishwhippets 10-09-2009 08:17 PM

Thanks for the mummy idea. Going to need to put that into the will since I'm spending all their inheritance, lol.

harrishwhippets 10-09-2009 08:22 PM

Oh yeah! I have to include if there is any left it gets donated to my new friends here. Than I know it would be put to good use. Since it was you guys who turned me on to the great fabric sites on the web.

Darlene loves Chocolates 10-09-2009 08:23 PM

well, I am a novice....so I DON'T HAVE A HABIT!

But I am leaving for Los Angeles in a week and I am taking one empty suitcase just in case I get to "some" fabric store(s) or lucky enough to get downtown to the fashion district....which is fabric heaven.

Y'all.....all my friends, right....so if you think I am getting a habit....

DON'T TRY AND TAKE ME TO REHAB...JUST TO GET YOUR STICKY FINGERS ON MY NEW STASH.....

Pickles 10-09-2009 09:01 PM

:D :D :D It sounds like your going to have lots more fun with all that new Fabric, happy sewing ..

BellaBoo 10-09-2009 09:34 PM

My daughters say they are going to layer my coffin with my fabric and I can take it with me! They probably will too.

collettakay 10-10-2009 06:22 AM

You can add me to your will too!

tfarmer 10-10-2009 06:54 AM

We must be related! We cant stand to pass on a sale and seriously you can not pass on a fabric sale and coupons too. That deserves a PARTY!
I am currently in a 12 step program to curb my fabric addiction. Currently I am still on step one, admitting you are addited to fabric, Well HECK YA I am its PRETTY darn pretty! Who wouldnt. Ok I admitted it now let's all go sale-ing and get some more. Did I mention I have been on step one for 6 years. I am a slow learner in many ways LOL.
Enjoy every yard of fabric you have! I know I enjoy mine!

When my DD looks into my sewing room (which is always a mess) and sees all the fabric, she sighs and says "Mother really, do you need all of this fabric and what will we do with it when the time comes". I always smile and tell to give it to another quilter!!!!!    I love fabric and can't pass up a good sale. :)

Honey 10-10-2009 10:02 AM

When I go, I'm taking ALL my quilting stuff with me :!: :!: If there isn't quilting in heaven, what's the point :D :D

diannemc 10-10-2009 02:24 PM

I just started quilting so I got some catching up to do!! I am in denial>>

materialgrl 10-10-2009 02:27 PM

Yes, I to need to go to fabric annon. Can you guys just set around and look at the fabric you just bought ,rearrange ,feel the softness ,Oh heck I'm addicted and I'm not changing, Give me a LQS or Walmart and I;m in heaven,I check the ginghers out every day on ebay, okay several times,Just to see the patterns, I will never give in,not gonna do it, it makes me happy.

Gilla 10-10-2009 04:03 PM

Reserve a room for me next door. I am running out of room.

Joan 10-10-2009 04:30 PM

Think of it this way!

We are all doing our PATRIOTIC DUTY to shore up the economy!

It's an absolute necessity at this time in history particularly that we support our LQS!

Just think of the red, white and blue.....and for our worldwide quilters:
lest you forget this economic thing is world wide so you have to do your
part, too!

Quilters of the world, UNITE, pledge to buy more fabric---we must, we must, we must.........

(Fabric Rehab???????????????--what's that?)

Gilla 10-10-2009 04:59 PM

AMEN --- You are absolutely right.

littlehud 10-10-2009 05:36 PM

Hi, I'm Patti and I'm a fabricholic. And I love it. I say if you find wonderful fabric at a great price, buy it. There might be the perfect fabric there for your next quilt. Or maybe the next one, or the next one. I plan on having enough fabric on hand when I retire so I can sew all day, every day. And I plan on living to 120 to get it all used up.

My grandmother always said she couldn't die yet, she was too tired. She'd have to rest up to die, and had no time to rest. I feel that way, I can't die, I still have quilts to make!!!!!!!!

Chele 10-10-2009 06:52 PM

Great topic! Let's go shopping!

tfarmer 10-10-2009 07:15 PM

Any step you want it to be. Could be all 12 steps. each step add a friends name to it and when its finished move on to the next step. hhmmmm Sounds like a good program. You've got a good idea there.
Shop,stitch and give !!!!!!

materialgrl 10-11-2009 06:37 AM

Think of buying fabric as retail therapy, only we will someday use it in something, only some is so pretty I can't cut it up yet,but someday I will find the right pattern that will just scream for me to use my treasure on,and I will be happy.See it all works out in the end.

Moongal 10-12-2009 05:38 AM

Maybe this is what heaven is like. All beautiful colors that we have all chosen for others to enjoy. Keep on buying and adding to my pleasure when I'm up above...

RedGarnet222 10-12-2009 06:11 AM

Well I sew garments, accessories, home dec and quilt, so, the stash just keeps getting ahead of me. That's ok, it is my dang money.

My sister is questioning me why I have so much. I just remind her she has a closet full of shoes and purses, dogs and household of knick knacks. Not to mention she does wood working and has more tools than I can count for that. She never say's anything anymore.... LOL!

Sorry ... I guess this is a sore spot with me. People need to realize, when you are driven to sew/quilt. You need supplies! Oh and tools lots of tools. :D

Ybridgegal 10-12-2009 06:17 AM

I would rather be a fabriholic then a basket collector. Baskets will only burn for a short time when the heat goes off but, you can continuously layer fabric to stay cozy and warm.

Quilt4u 10-12-2009 06:41 AM

If Rehab was the case then we all need it. But wait a min. But is't Quilting a form of rehab. It sure relaxes me after a hards day of work. There for you are paying for your thearpy by buying fabric.

harrishwhippets 10-12-2009 07:38 AM

Ok I get it now!!! I'll just tell my husband I'm in therapy and this is my homework!!! THANKS YOU ALL for making me feel better, and not guilty.

materialgrl 10-12-2009 09:13 AM

My daughter said she would quit smoking when I quit buying fabric and ginghers, shes been smoke free for 3 weeks, but I just bought another pair of ginghers,I couldn't agree to her deal, cause I new I couldn't do it. And yes I agree,Pastor said at a funeral sat. heaven would be just what we wanted it to be and our mansions all fixed up for us , can you imagine the stash we'll have with an endless supply and every gingher design there is whoopee. No one to gripe about how big or how much,Don't know if I can take the thought of that.

Lostn51 10-12-2009 09:35 AM

I honestly do not think that you can have too much fabric, seriously its like a potato chip can you just eat one?

Billy<< yes I have an addiction

Tink's Mom 10-12-2009 09:56 AM

Hi I'm Sue and I also am a fabricaholic. I just got home from JoAnn's after ordering a roll of batting, and spending an additional $165 on fabric. But it was all on sale! Except for the one piece that I used my 50% off coupon. I am soooooo bad.  :(
