WOW! You're good!!!! If it was me, I would say "NO" because of the shipping. Then, a week later (maybe a day) I would buy it anyway. I'm stupid like that.

There are boxes at the PO that are flat rates. $7.95 for all the fabric you can get in the box, usually 7-8 yds.

Bearisgray is right on this! The fabric does not cut and pack itself :D which is why you have to look both at the cost of shipping and the price-per-yard of the fabric. You will often find that shops that offer free shipping have a higher price-per-yard, or maybe they won't let you buy less than a one-yard cut. Which may mean a not-so-great deal for you, if all you needed was a bunch of 1/4 yard cuts to add to your collection.

Also, if you live far from any stores, remember to factor in the gas you will be saving. Sales tax, too.

I can't count the number of times I've ordered 'stuff' and cancelled because of shipping costs. :hunf:

The shipping cost is absolutely ridiculous (msp). I rarely buy things online just because of that.

I feel your pain. at a show the other day, I fell in LOVE with a FQ, problem was it was in a set of five, the lady didnt want to seperate, and I really didnt care for 2 of them. And it was 18.00!!!!!!!!!!!! So, I skipped it too, but really wanted the one, lol!

Good for you... wish I had your willpower Yolanda! I fell for his Paperweight fabric in the "Sludge" colorway and purchased 5 yards. I don't even know what i'm going to do with that much and am going to be the little devil sitting on your shoulder, whispering in your ear "I'd would be happy to split it with you if you're interested." ;)
Sludge. What a funny name for a colorway - but hey it grabs your attention. I have a question that is probably dumb, but what it is "shot cotton"?

Shot cotton is where the warp and weft threads are two different colors. It creates a soft blended color effect.

I agree, I was recently going to purchase a table runner pattern that I really want, but the shipping was over $10.00
I always check Ebay for a pattern before buying it elsewhere. Shipping tends to be a lot more realistic and the price is often a LOT lower too.....
