I Saw It Here!!

This is really a terrific site!!! I have been a member for a few years and am amazed and so grateful for all of the support, encouragement, ideas and inspiration that I have gotten right here. So many times I have been at a loss for an idea for a pattern...got the fabric, but what am I going to do with it? Or, now that it's made what kind of quilting does it need? This site has truly answered so many of my questions about an iron, a marker, a pattern, a machine or the many "what do I do now?" things. I can't say "thank you" enough to all of you out there that read and post, share and pass on your knowledge. Recently, I posted a little tree where I used pebbling for the garland. I SAW THAT HERE a few years ago and tucked it away in my memory bank!!! Thank heaven I didn't forget it.

I've only been on this site going on a couple years and I have learned so much in just maintaining my machine. Being directed to different resources has been a huge plus. So many tips and techniques for quilting with only a couple DSMs. Too much to list! Thanks to you and everyone else. Also for those who think they have nothing to add, every little tip can save booqoo bucks for every one. we all appreciate that.

Well, I have to get on this site several times a day, that is all there is to it! Keeps the "quilting juices" flowing, and is full of information. When I changed the blade in my rotary cuter the first time, I didn't know if I should "wipe" off the excess oil or not. I panicked....had to know right then, and I had an answer in minutes. (Interestingly enough, I don't remember the answer. Now I wipe that off sometimes and don't other times. :) )

I agree with all of you. I have also learned a bunch on this QB and everyone is thoughtful and come right back and tell you what you want for information and encouragement. thanks everyone for all the help.

quiltjoey 01-07-2015 05:49 PM

I, too, agree with everyone. The QB is addictive to me. I miss it if I can't go on and see all the lovely things everyone has made/making/sharing with us all. Knowledge is power and all the knowledge I have learned from the B is better than having to have paid to take classes. I love the QB!

Terry in the ADK 01-07-2015 05:57 PM

I find this QB addictive......sometimes I think I spend more time reading about quilting than quilting! But, I have no plans to quit checking in daily and learning....just wish I could work the PC and the sewing machine at the same time.
Thanks for all great information and inspriration.!

Blackberry 01-08-2015 06:09 AM

I check this QB every day. It is so addictive. It has been a source for so many of my quilting questions and so many talented and experienced quilters have been so helpful. I love, love, love this QB.

Homespun 01-08-2015 06:16 AM

I am with all of you. I check daily and love the helpfulness of all the members.

hairquilt 01-08-2015 07:04 AM

Yup, me too. It's coffee & Board every morning for me too!! Really opened a whole new world of quilting for me & have learned so much here!! Thanks everyone!!

kathidahl 01-08-2015 07:17 AM

Me too..I fear more virtual quilting than actual quilting...LOL

Kitsie 01-08-2015 10:09 AM

And by showing us your little tree, you have helped at least 4 others who are each making the tree as a group! Thanks!

This truly is a one-of-a-kind site... I, too, sometimes need a quick answer and I've ALWAYS gotten the help I need! Love to all!!

SuziSew 01-08-2015 10:18 AM

I love this site too! Everyone is so upbeat, helpful and encouraging!! I get have a some negative people at work so all I have to do to cheer up is read some of the posts and it makes me feel so much better!!

citruscountyquilter 01-09-2015 03:22 AM

Best thing I ever did for expanding my quilting skills was join this site. It's how I start my day. I'm glad that Daily Digest posts early in the morning because I'm an early bird. I've referred other quilting friends to the site and they feel the same way. I don't limit myself to Daily Digest but that's one place for sure I visit every day. Thanks everyone for making this so great.

quilttiger 01-09-2015 03:29 AM

My DSIL clued me into this wonderful forum.....HUGS to her! She lives in OH, so while we don't get to see each as often as we would like, it is a fun way to be connected. I have learned a lot, and, once in awhile, I get to share with others, too! Thank you all!

coffeecozy 01-09-2015 03:53 AM

Yes, I feel that way too. So many people here generously share their knowledge and ideas. Thank you so much.

Geri B 01-09-2015 04:54 AM

...this is my version of Facebook...but better.......this lets me know there are others who are doing what I'm doing....I'm really not friends with any of the guild members here...Don't sew, shop, meet with......but this keeps me in touch with other quilters........ideas, doubts, solutions, help,.....and smiles....and sometimes disagreements, but that's ok for friends to do too......

Reba'squilts 01-09-2015 04:56 AM

My morning coffee and the quilt board...doesn't get any better then that!!!!

KwiltyKahy 01-09-2015 05:07 AM

I can onlly agree with everything that's been said. Thanks to whoever thought of this to begin with. And to the adminstators who keep it running.

bibi 01-09-2015 05:19 AM

I too have to add my thanks and appreciation. QB and all its generous and knowledgeable members have me launched on this incredible quilting journey. I too treat it like my daily cup of coffee. Thanks everyone and have a terrific year.

Linda1 01-09-2015 05:27 AM

I love this site too. I always come here with my morning coffee.

EmiliasNana 01-09-2015 06:23 AM

I'm a faithful follower too, with my breakfast in front of the computer. DH at the dining room table with his crossword puzzle. I find my brain stimulation here. I have learned so much, what to use or not, ideas for patterns and web sites, interesting color combinations I would never have tried.......but work, quilting motifs, LOTS of quilts I can't live without making, made new friends etc. I meet a long distance friend once a month for quilting, but other than that, you are my closest quilting friends. No one understands a quilter and her passion, like another quilter. Thank you one and all !

Sneed 01-09-2015 08:07 AM

I'm with you...I don't even need facebook. My interests lie here and the friendly, helpful atmosphere is always positive.

Somedays a cup of coffee and a dose of this board is all I need to become inspired, Don't have as much quilting time as I used to, but I am getting back into it bigtime, so you'll be hearing from me more. Love all you guys

Sandrea 01-09-2015 08:35 PM

Ditto to all the previous posts. We all have so much in common and everyone is so helpful. Like we've all been friends since forever ago. Thanks to everyone for sharing your ideas, helps, answers and solutions whenever any of us need it. You are all the greatest!!

MFord 01-09-2015 09:18 PM

My thanks to everyone as well. Would write glowingly and at length but it's hard to type in a cast! Such good friends and helpful souls!

earthwalker 01-09-2015 09:22 PM

As a 'lone quilter' I love the QB.....keeps me connected with people with the same passion as me. There's always something to learn, or something beautiful to look at and not to mention the heartwarming stories and pictures. This is a very healthy place to visit.

Teddybear Lady 01-09-2015 09:23 PM

I'm always referring to you all by saying ..."my quilting board friends...". I've learned so much here and felt so inspired. Quilters just make good friends don't they!

novicequiltergrandma 01-09-2015 10:55 PM

Ditto. I love that I usually have a response within just a few minutes. That way I can get right back to work.

DOTTYMO 01-09-2015 11:18 PM

At the present time(6weeks) I have not been sewing or quilting. This site is the only place I'm going. I keep hoping that at some time I hope inspiration will hit me and I will start a new project.
everyone is so kind and gives so much quilting knowledge so freely even when we disagree.

oldtisme 01-10-2015 08:39 PM

This board is my guild, I don't have to say anything or have anyone look down on my work, all I get is positive responses to questions and learn from others questions. If I'm away from my computer for a few days most of the emails are deleted without even looking at them just so I can narrow them all down to the QB. I love the help and camaraderie here.
