Good for you! I would have insisted my cut first too. Not a selfish move at all from my perspective, you had the bolt in your cart.

It was only fair. You did the right thing.

You were not being selfish, the other lady trying to get your fabric was being selfish. I worked at a fabric store before, and there are people out there that just have to have the fabric/items someone else is holding. Period. I believe these people never learned to share.

Ditto - quick thinking!

Quick thinking on your part. I used to work at a fabric store and was taught how to count yards on a bolt - 2 folds for every yard.

Ditto, I would not say that was not selfish, but quick thinking.

Glad you spoke up and got what you wanted.

[QUOTE=Quilt Mom;4997320]Count only the folds on one side of the bolt. That is about 9" So two folds counted on one side is about a yard on the bolt.

Okay, now I get it. Thanks for the explanation!

You were right in wanting her to cut your fabric first.

Elaine433 02-22-2012 11:33 AM

You were right.

That was good thinking on your part and sounds fair. After all, you were the first to find it.

Good for you! I probably would have been sucker-punched and would have been a very angry customer in the end!! Good, quick thinking!!
