DoghouseMom,Like you the Long arm machines have haunted my wants for years, tried all other methods , this last month I finale bit the$$$'s and bought myself one . Even if I did have to move 1/2 my family room furniture out I'm so happy with it, feels so good to be capable of moving the machine not the quilt when quilting. Even my arms and shoulders say thanks . Happy quilting sure you will enjoy it. I am still green on the designing of patterns but have fun practicing.

Congrats and enjoy! I love my Innova after learning on a Nolting and using a Gammill, but whatever works for you is always best.

Congratulations. I wish I had the space to have a long-arm.

Iam so happy for you. Mine is down in our shop waiting for my sewing space to be finished so I can set it up, maybe we can compare ours joys and accidents and learn from each other, I am happy for both of us

Picked the machine up today. The owner was kind enough that he had the fame all broken down and carried it and the head up stairs to the main floor. We then dropped it off at the shop but had to come home as we have other things on our agenda. I only stayed long enough to vacuum the carpet and the walls (unused rooms collect so many spiders ... I killed several today!!). So ... as of this moment it's *mine* but it's not set up yet :) So no pic's to share. I did read both of the manuals on the way home. Good girl!! The sad part is the woman that I bought it from. She bought it in 2008, had only quilted 3 quilts on it then decided that she was giving up quilting. Shortly after that she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and is currently undergoing chemo. She, her husband and her sister (whom I met) were such wonderful people. I wish her the best and hope that she makes a complete recovery. I'll be thinking of Kathy every time I use it. |
I'm so happy for you, I wish I had room for a long arm, but I don't. I'm looking forward to seeing yours and you creations.

Congrats on taking the plunge. Keep us updated on how it works out for you. I too am wavering, should I or shouldn't I. Seems like big $$$ and I could have a pro do alot of quilts for that money also. However, I love the idea of a start to finish quilt entirely made by me. Use to be able to rent time on a LA, but moved to a different state and don't have that service available within a good driving distance. Sigh

Good luck! Sounds like fun!!
