Hi Well here is a little bit about Barbara
I was born in Wisconsin, and moved to Maine when I was a freshmen in High School. Graduated with the class of '59 from Mount Merici Acadeny in Waterville, Me.
Moved to New Hampshire in 1965 where I met my husband. Was married in 1966 and 2 years later had our son. Moved back to Wisconsin in 1971 and 2 years later had a daughter. Both are married, and my daughter has 3 children 2 boys 9 and 7 and a girl who will be 5 tomorrow. I was always a stay at home Mom, so had plenty of time for crafts. I started sewing clothes when I was 16. I followed in my Mom's foot steps. I knit, crochet and started quilting in 1982. I took a couple of years off from quilting when I was doing tole painting. Now I have been back steady quilting for 5 years. I made 1 queen size sampler quilt which I use for a bed spread. I am working on my second queen quilt which is almost finished. I plan on making each of my grandchildren a quilt for when they get married. The second o ne is all cut out waiting to me batted. It is a YBR. Still have my eye open for the third pattern I want to make. I do all hand quilting. I bought a new machine 3 years ago so I could give it a try with machine quilting, but still never tried. I find it so relaxing sitting and hand stitching. I have made 20 or so wallhangings. Also made myself a jacket 2 years ago.

Just a FYI, I have made
I made close to 40,quilts, mainly Queen size, few full. 2 king.
35 quillos, 10 sweatshirt makeovers, 2 ragcoats, 1 queen bisquit quilt.Several pillows, This is within the last 16 yrs. I have kept 8 of my quilts, and 1 ragcoat. The rest has all been given as gifts.

Started sewing in the 60's--took home ec evry year from 7th grade on up.

All but one of my gazillion projects has been given away. Started with "cheater quilts" Took a class 20 + years ago when I moved to NC. I was born and raised in South La.

Married my high school sweatheart--It'll be 40 years this Dec and luckily for him, I haven't shot him yet, somedays its been a close call, but he is still alive and well.

Will retire to the mtns of NC in 2 more years. Currently fixing up our mtn home. Spent last week doing demo on the bathroom floor. Had to tear out everything and rebuild--rotted wood, ugh! But one day it'll be beautiful.

Have 3 kids all married one in Texas 2 in NC--3 grandkids--ages 10, 3 and 1--all my daughters.

Lastly love to quilt--hate housework and if you could see the house, you'd know that was no exaggeration :lol:

Hi, Somewhat of a new quilter, Have made: table runner, rag quilt (out of the Royal Crown Bags), rag jacket, Thomas the Train (my first quilt) baby quilt for new nephew and a quilted purse. I am working on a queen size quilt for our br. I love quilting. I wanted to learn for so many years and finally did. And doing the block of the month that this forum has, which this month is Applique which I have not done yet. FUN FUN FUN!!! :D

i've been quilting 15 plus yrs. made my very first quilt when i was pregnant with my first son. it was a quilt for him. and each one of my other sons has their own quilts. :D made quilts for nephews when they were babies. made at least 6 for my hus. who doesn't think he has enough.i've made quilts to go to the hospitals with very sick friends .i've made quilts for birthdays those are the best. oh about me thats right, i'am a stay at home mom love to quilt but theres not enough time in the day. i love to cook ,but dont like to clean .love to do crafty projects. well i guess thats it for now

My mom had me hand sewing @ 5 y.o. & using her Elna by 7y.o. with supervision,of course. I had 9 yrs of 4-H sewing & 4years of H.S. Home Ec. So I have made way too many projects over the years to remember but I'll mention the few I can.
1.Made my Sr. prom dress and finished it an hour before going to the event. (The procrastinator in me is ALWAYS at work, just not on time)
Married in 1978- husband is retired military now, 2 sons, both are college grads & active duty Army(23y.o. in aviation,24 y.o. being redeployed in Aug.) NO STRESS IN MY LIFE,HUH?

2.First quilting project was an appliqued baby quilt for my 1st nephew 27 years ago.
Have been an LPN for 30 yrs. & an elementary school nurse for the past 10 yr. with 725 children/year.

3.I love to "collect" fabric and look at my collection (ok, stash) and visualize pieces in many different projects without cutting one piece.
My mom-in-law rekindled my quilting interest a few yrs ago. Each of her 17 children, 47 grans and 20+ great-grans have been blessed w/ at least 1 of her hand-quilted quilts.(Too much for me to ever live up to.) She always has a quilt in the frame to be stitched on by whoever stops in to help.

4.I have made numerous pairs of curtains (kitchen,bedroom) and recently a camouflage purse for my son's girlfriend.
I have been blessed to find a group of ladies who share my love of quilting & community service- Prayer Squares/Quilts ministry which has helped my "empty nest "blues. They are great mentors!!!

I so enjoy the cameraderie expressed on this site. It's so "unique" (with Tim's quirky sense of humor) and input from others.

HAHA! You guys crack me up! I am glad I had this oppurtunity to learn many interesting things about each one of you! :D
