Most people, even some quilters, will never get it. But I sure do,
I have 7 and would not pass up on another one if it was a good deal. Try to stay patient till she get here and I know you're gonna love her! |
congrats-it feels like winning a lottery!
Way to go! congrats!
Lucky you! Congratulations!
Congratulations :D
I received my featherweight as a child of 11 for Christmas in 1966. It's birthday is 1935. I still use it and my youngest DD wants it back (I gave it to her and then took it back when I bought her a Viking) |

Explain to them that its like having a land-line phone in addition to your cell-phone. Old fashioned but practical!
so happy for you! I'm working on mine as we speak!! A pretty little gal born 1950 - runs like the day she was born! Welcome to the happy world of FW's!!
Hi, Debbie - just received mine last week and LOVE it! Have already made a few quilt squares for my next project and it's just hums along! Congrats!!!
Carie, I have three - one was my mom's - she's not sewing any more....One was my mother in-law's (she's passed) and one I got from a friend for emptying out her summer house when she couldn't be here. Three FWs - love them all!

I just had to tell someone who would understand. My kids said why do you need another sewing machine? I said, "THIS IS A FEATHERWEIGHT!" Their response, "Oh, ok." and rolled their eyes and laughed. Angie |
They just don't understand the concept, do they? Now that I finally got mine, I know how to do the Happy Dance.
Welcome to the Featherweight club!
Congrats! I am so happy for you! Don't forget the pics.
I got her on ebay. i can't hardly wait.
Angie |
Congrats...you're gonna love it!
Love my FW, bought it from a sewing friend who really keeps her machines in top shape. I maintain my own with the help of the DVD "Those fantastic featherweights". It's worth the money...you may even find one on ebay. Dave really covers everything about taking care of your machine, adjusting it, & also how to fix & care for the cases...including getting rid of any musty smells. |
Its nice to add to your family......
You will just love it! it's a true workhorse. I just made a quilted fabric lined purse, it just sailed through it!
What do the kids know???? Happy for you..
my eight year old great-grandson calls mine "that baby machine" but she sews better than any of one of my others.
Gotta love a Featherweight!!! I know you'll have many happy years and miles and miles of great stitches on her. Congratulations |
Congrats. I got one off e-bay a mounth ago. It is so neet. I made it a nice cozy cover. don't want it to catch cold. LOL
Congratulations, please post a picture of your featherweight when she arrives, have you named her yet?
Congrats on the bid... I know you'll enjoy sewing on her.. I don't have one but I'm doing the happy dance for you and singing I GOT IT >>>I GOT IT...I'm so happy for you

Congrats!!!! I know how you feel. I had the same thing happen at my house when I got mine. Nobody here understands Featherweights. :) Hope they ship quickly for you.
Ambquilter. I won the bid on eBay the morning after you did. I got her today and there are no words to describe the feeling. She is my first and I have named her Goldie after my grandmother. I am going to get my nephew to post a picture of her. Happy sewing on your baby. I know I am going to enjoy mine. She was born in 1948 the same year as my birth.
Congratulations to everyone who now owns a little piece of history. They are little workhorses.
Oh I LOVE mine! I have a pretty one that sits in the box and an ugly one that runs for hours and hours and hours... each week. ;-)
Cograts, Yes, we need pics!
I have a bid on one and fingers are crossed. Can`t wait for your pics.
