Congratulations Robin, those fabrics are gorgeous, what a beautiful quilt it will make. I have one book on French braid books I was able to get at our local used book store but I haven't made one yet. Let us know when you start.

Don't have time to read all the comments, but how about doing a French Braid table runner as practice from you stash fabrics? That would get you accustomed to the pattern & then you would feel that you could do it. It's going to be gorgeous.

penski 04-19-2010 08:11 PM

I love the "design elements" comment to cover up mistakes.

Does anyone know where to find a free French braid pattern? I saw a table runner this weekend at the Tulip Festival and it looked fairly simple to do but need the measurements.
