I made this baby girls quilt a while back.
I googled ‘how to make heart quilt blocks’ or some such, and improvised the rest. I used mostly stash fabric. |
In the "gallery" section of the Quilting Board there are 5 entries for baby quilts, each with several pages. Lots of cuteness and ideas to be found there!

I have made a small trip around the world with very bright colors. The baby was already born when I made it so I was able to put his name in the middle of the quilt. Another one was an I Spy quilt with all different animals using 5 inch squares so it went really fast. My grandson I made a chevron quilt with a large red heart in the lower right quadrant. I have an Accuquilt cutter so cutting HST goes really fast. For a while I was on an I Spy kick using hexagons and triangles. It ws fun because I liked doing the fussy cutting with a template. Figured out how many hexies I needed then, decided if I wanted 2 or 3 of each print. Using the triangles there are no "Y" seams. But I did have a dickens of a time keeping the points to match up.

I've made baby quilts from Fabric Cafe patterns. They take 3 yards of fabric and they have tons of patterns.

It always depends on how much work you want to put in!
For some inspiration you can't beat Pinterest, and here is a board I put together: https://www.pinterest.ca/westernwils...t-awesomeness/ |
