Hve you looked at any of the Pieced Tree Patterns. They are little laminated patterns sold at quite a few LQS. I have quite a few that are just table centers or table runners. I think that the fruit & veggie fabrics would work just great.

Have you thought about a fussy- cut kaleidoscope and leave the piece 6 sided?

try using the small twister for placemats or tablerunners. I've seen it made in a quilt with fruits & vegetables and fell in love with it.
