I bought about 16 of these beautiful tapestry samples from Italy at an estate sale. They measure about 18" each. Any ideas what do with them....besides pillows? :)

I love the idea of tote bags. They would be very heavy for a quilt. Oh.....maybe a crazy quilt.

The first thing that came to mind was a crazy quilt!! Boy, can I see them incorporated into one. Lace, beads, buttons, maybe some silk. OOOOOH!!!

If they are duplicates I can see a large block lap quilt

Marsye, I agree with sewcrafty; a crazy quilt would be great. Those are so pretty and that would really show off their beauty. Or maybe something like a pinwheel block with a different color of them in each block. With the amount and size of each combined with other fabric to make a block it should make a fairly good sized quilt I would think. Let us know what you are going to do. I am anxious to see how you use them.

If any of the designs are centered you might think about framing them....I have several pieces of tapestry that I plan to use for totes...

How about cosmetic bags with a beautiful shiny lining??

Or you can use two of them and make Pillows! Or piece them together and make a patchwork bag.

sewing cases, japanese purses, remote control caddies, luggage tags and passport holders, billfolds, eyeglass cases, pincushions.lots of small items would be gorgeous made out of those fabulous fabrics!

Marsye, I would hate to cut them up...I see beautiful wall hangings!!!!! They are so elegant...You could put pictures in front of them and use them as borders... scenery, family portraits, art work.....oh, they are so gorgeous.

I agre with the Crazy Quilt idea, also they would look great in a Crazy Quilt Shawl, with a lightweight backing. They would make nice clutch evening bags.

They would make facial tissue holders, use fancy trim, makes a beautuful gifts. I think Tipnut has the pattern.

My first thought would be a crazy patch sofa runner. You could probably get away without using batting because of the thickness.

Wall hanging for entry of your home. Behind your bed. Put clear to the ceiling on a black rod iron rod. Last a rug for the bedroom?????

I am thinking placemats, doilies for your dressers or under lamps, or make 3 dimensional blocks that are stuffed and use them for accent pieces. Just a thought...

Crazy Quilt?

When I go shopping I get lots of compliments on my "Thomas

Kincaid " shopping bags. They are really a conversation piece. Just a thought.

I was given a book of upholstery samples and made a crazy quilt with them. Turned out quite nice, even if I say so myself.

Not the easiest thing with which to work.....it was a challenge and a complete satisification when finished..
