I've decided to make the original quilt in this thread, only the yellow will be replaced by Osnaburg and the white (slightly narrower pieces) will be bleached white muslin. Subtle, understated and perfect for its recipient. (Shhhhhh, all of you in Jackson, Georgia.) I was thinking to make it more interesting the quilting should mostly ignore the rectangular shapes; I'm considering concentric rings, i.e., like ripples in a pond. This will add some much-needed round shapes to the composition, and also echo the idea of water, since it is for a beach house. Too corny?
