mine would be So Many Quilts.... So Little Time
I would have to be so many quilts, so little times partner because that is definitely me
Mine would be "So Many Fabrics, Not Enough Time"
The quilt police might lock me up but I never worry about my quilts being squared. I'm not entering them in a competition or show; they are going to people who love me and my quilts! |
I have many squares but few quilts. :p Guess that makes me not quilty(?).
No one I ever gave a quilt to said, "Oh, no thanks, that's not square." Maybe "Love and Pieces" for a quilt shop.
That would be stressful for me if I had to square it up perfectly. I quilt to relieve the stress, not add stress!
I work at a LQS called "Caroline's Cottage Cottons", in a 1870 brick cottage. The house next door is for sale. My DH said, "We should buy it and start a quilt shop called Cindy's Cottage Cottons." Heehee
I would NEVER want to own a quilt shop! I love working in one, but would not want the responsibility and long hours that go with owning one. Cindy |
mine would be "Never Enough Fabric"
i no longer worry about "square". what's square?? |
If I were to open up a quilt shop, only dreaming here. Somehow I would incorporate a bed and breakfast and call it ....
QUILT YOUR DREAMS Bed and Breakfast. Speaking for myself when I am out shopping at quilt stores, the clock does not mean anything. lol Trouble with my theory not many understand a true quilter. |
I think, "Your Stash" would be a fun name.
Like, "Where did your get that fabric?" "Your Stash". Or, Where you been shopping?" "Your Stash". "What is your favorite fabric store?" "Your Stash". "That is a beautiful quilt, you must of paid a arm and leg for material." "Nope, was shopping in "Your Stash". |

Mine are never square either, but I would have to call my shop something like: Never Straight or Always Crooked
Since I can never cut or sew a straight line! |
I would name my shop "Good Intentions"
How about Quilty People?
I like the never square. That is one of my problems too. It seems so hard for me to square anything up much less a whole quilt.

MY favorite all time quilt store name is "Cotton Ball" it is in Morro Bay, California.
My Daughters' favorite is "Cotton and Choclate" in Thousand Oaks, Caifornia IMHO "Your Stash" is a great name.....I might have to travel just to shop there !!!!!!! |

I think I would want mine to be called *Let One be Done* lol, thats my story now... so many things started, and cut out, but none done , I like all of you some to do, so little time, i still work so fitting every thing in is so hard .....
I always thought mine might be "A Time to Sew" as in Ecclesiastes 3:7 - There is a time to tear apart and a time to sew together. I also thought of "Dorcas' Purple Cloth". Jesus raised her from the dead but she was also a seller of purple cloth. I can't find the line right now.
Would never own any kind of store but if i did i would call it get busy and quilt
I think I'd call my shop "We'll Keep You In Stitches" and I love the idea of a combination Quilt Shop/B&B!
Before I started quilting, my fantasy was always to own a greenhouse/tea room/book store. Those were my 3 favorite pass times at that time. I would call it "Hobbyville." Now I fantasize about owning a fabric store/quilt retreat place/workshop place. I guess I would call it "Everything Quilting."
I would call it "Quilting Dreams come True"
Oh I think the B&B is a great idea!!
I think I'd call my store "Can I please have some more?" because of the fabric addiction that plagues so many of us.
I'm with teddysmom, "I quilt to relieve stress, not add stress"
I used to live in a small town in Missouri. There was a small neighborhood bar that burned down. The only thing that was left was a storage building next door. The owner put in a charcoal grill and started serving beer and hamburgers. The customers decided to rebuild the bar themselves. After a couple of months the bar was up and running again. The customers called themselves the "Cockeyed Construction Company" and their motto was "If it's straight and true, we didn't build it."
Quilt n Scraps
Mine would be "what pattern"
Mine would be "Not for the Quilt Police" coz rules are just guidelines that can be followed but are not a must.
I've always wanted to have a gift shop named Memories and Dreams. I would have a combination of handcrafted items, original artwork of friends and miscellaneous nifty-gifty stuff.
Mine is going to be called The Sassy Stitcher!
Mine would be So much fabric so little time. When I go to my LQS they are always working on quilts or waiting on customers and it looks like fun but I'm sure when the orders come in and it needs putting away and pricing it's probably more stress than I want to deal with now that I am retired. Sue
Mine would have to be "Dump Truck List", that Bucket left the building long ago...no one would know it was a quilt shop though, so it would just be me, the fabrics, and the people stopping in looking for truck parts-hhmmmm....
I like the suggestion "Your Stash" It's always good to use up Your Stash when making a quilt so this just perpetuates the possibilities!
