Could you enlarge a few of the blocks and do machine applique on them for a lap quilt? Or just do the Hawaiian by machine?

I have been wanting to make a cathedral window quilt.....I am intimidated by the prospect. I know I want to use a dark purple for the inside color (the color of royalty my daughter wants), but can't seem to buckle down to get started!

I would love to make Judy Neimeyer's Glacier Star. So pretty, but looks so complicated. I also like New York Beauty and hope to make one of those someday soon. Perhaps next year...
