If You Are Making "Stacked Coins"
2 Attachment(s)
When you get to the sashing, would you go very dark, or a lighter neutral? Haven't bought the fabric yet. I am leaning toward one, but will not say which just now. What do you think?

The light really sets the rest of the colors off.
I agree-the light seems to set the colors
Thought I'd prefer the dark, until I saw the light. I definitely prefer how it sets off the colors of those rich batiks!!

Same! I thought black was very nice until I saw the light which I prefer now. It gives it a softer touch
i vote for the light
The light version would show off the colors more if it was even lighter - maybe an almost-white?
I agree with Linda in Missouri - I thought I would like the dark until I saw the lighter version. My vote goes for the light. I am looking forward to seeing what YOU decide though when it's all finished. ~smile~

I am the renegade here. I like the dark sashing.
I love me the light.
I like both, but I agree that the light sashing seems to make the colors pop more.
I too like the dark.

With the dark sash those coins just glow, whereas with the light, they pale out........

I prefer the black. Gives depth to all of the batiks.
i vote for light.
I like the black .
I strongly prefer the dark sashing! Black/dark colors recede, whereas light colors advance. In this case, the dark makes the colors "pop" forward. The light sashing competes with the colors for attention.
I think the dark sets off the colors better
The light!
I've just joined this group - and I like the dark! Maybe it's because I'm from Downunder?
I like the dark much better, I think it makes the colors pop more.
I usually prefer dark to make colors pronounced but in this case, I believe the light does the trick!! Beautiful!!
I think the light is very subtle
I vote for the dark. I think it makes the colors 'pop' more as well. They seem to me to be fading with the light sashing.
I prefer the light fabric for the sashing. If you want to go dark, you might consider a dark brown, which I think would work better than the black with those fabrics.
At first I thought the dark was an obvious choice-'no brainer', so to speak. Then I scrolled down to the lighter version! It is super great. I think it is just perfect. I think any lighter would be distracting. But, what you show here is just right. Don't forget to show us your final choice.
I like the dark better.
Like both, but darker best.
I usually go for dark sashing but on this one LOVE the light, it really makes the coins jump out.
I like both color ways but the light is refreshing and a bit "newer" in look as I have seen the black done frequently.

The black really makes those colors beautifully intense!!
I think both are nice. And you should go with the way you lean to as far as light and darks.
Now, that being said, I would usually go for the light. NOT this time. I think the black makes a bigger bolder statement. And makes the fabrics sing. I can't wait to see what you'll go with. Thanks for sharing. |
I like them both, but prefer the dark.
I really prefer the light but I am partial to lighter fabrics anyway.
I surprised myself. I generally like everything with black, but I really liked the light one best. It seems to me the light one looks like the batiks keep on going and are not really separated by the sashing, just sort of enhancing it.
I know whatever you decide you will be happy with the results. |
They are both pretty, but I prefer the light.
