I went there with a list of items NEEDED. Original price would have been 213.31 with an ending price with taxes for $97.98.....saved $115.33
Debbie Mumms fabrics were 50% off without coupon, so if you have the 25% off coupon good on everything, you get 75% off. I did get a few nice items.

marknfran,
Did they give you 25% off the original price of the Debbie Mumms or 25% off the half-off price? The latter is how they always do it for me so I only get 62.5% off. (Nothing to sneeze at  )

Raggiemom 03-25-2011 12:03 PM

Way to go!

mimom 03-25-2011 12:07 PM

yep, I heading up there as soon as the last one gets off the bus, and hubby has school tonite, I can get that stuff packed away and he'll never know. he he

The Debbie Mumm fabric is listed as 50% off, so the gal that cuts the fabric records it at half the price on the ticket you give to the checkout gal. She then takes your 25% off coupon and deducts that off the price.

fabric whisperer 03-25-2011 12:28 PM

if you did not get a mailer postcard for the special 25% off this weekend, check your email if you're on the email list! The email came last week, its the coupon that you get to use over and over all 3 days! :)

Carol's Quilts 03-25-2011 12:47 PM

The last time I was at Joann's, I got 2 of the 25% (off your total order) coupons at the check-out counter. Each one has a coupon for you and one for a friend. Even though I am on the mailing list and did receive this week's sale ad, I did not get a 25% coupon in the mail.

I am going tomorrow with a gift card and some cash I got for my birthday. I need sewing machine needles, thread, spray adhesive and a whole bunch of fabrics. (I do Quilts for Kids). We'll see how well I do!

Twisted Quilter 03-25-2011 03:38 PM

The one time I have more than one coupon, plus the coupon for an additional 25% off, and I have no funds!

Darn, darn, darn.

hobbykat1955 03-25-2011 03:43 PM

I was good...really didn't need anything but I picked up some Solid fabric's, set of rulers, 2 remnants, buttons total 27.00 with a 15.00 savings.

tcnmom 03-25-2011 03:49 PM

I went to get Egyptian cotton or Kona cloth and they were out of both or put them away. All the other fabrics were on sale so the 50% would not apply The 25% off did not apply if you had used another coupon. Very disappointing.

thepolyparrot 03-25-2011 04:31 PM

I didn't really need anything but a new cutting mat - the giant one that covers my whole cutting table. Mine has so many grooves worn in it that I can't even cut on certain areas any more. :)

I got some hand applique needles that I haven't tried yet and some no-melt template plastic and a few other little things, but no major shopping trip. There's really very little that I need any more. Lately, all I need is to get my rear in gear and sew some of it together. ;)

CarrieAnne 03-25-2011 04:43 PM

I am going tomarrow!

Lucky Lady 03-25-2011 04:44 PM

I went this morning and got the Sew Essentials cutting table. It was on sale for $69.99 plus had the 25% off coupon so saved over $70.00. Haven't set it up yet but can't wait. It will be much easier than using the dining room table and always having to move stuff for mealtime.

debbieumphress 03-25-2011 04:48 PM

When I went by today, there were newspapers as you went in the store with more 25% coupons so even if you don't have a 25% coupon, you can get one there. I am going back tomorrow if I can get with JoanieU to drive with me. Have fun everyone who gets to go.

BKrenning 03-25-2011 04:56 PM

I went this morning & thanks to the yucky weather we had, I didn't even have to wait in the cutting line but the people who waited for it to quit sleeting sure did--LOL!

I didn't get the Rowenta travel iron I wanted--can't use a coupon on it, so I will have to wait for a sale. I did get the Sidewinder bobbin winder and I thought they had used my coupon but it didn't go through. I guess it's considered a sewing machine department item and those don't count. And, one of the flannels I bought must not have been a Snuggle flannel or it was missed in the computer. I bought 5 yards of it, too so the $12.50 I was expecting it to ring up as turned into $29.95. I did have the 25% preferred customer coupon which came off the complete total and it is a very nice flannel so I still got a bargain. I will probably be taking it back and have them use a 50% off coupon on it. I may pickup that iron again and keep it this time!

They didn't have the June Tailor Shape Cut Plus ruler that I've been lusting after. Not buying that & putting the iron back saved money, right?!

I used a 40% off coupon and got a 5 pack of Fiskar's 45mm rotary blades that don't appear to have the notches so I'm hoping they will work better in my Martelli cutter than the Olfa ones. I've broken 2 of the Olfa blades in it so my favorite cutter has been sitting unused & unloved. My wrist & shoulder will personally draft a thank you note to Fiskar if their blades work as well as the Martelli's.

Just the 25% off and the one 40% off coupon was a savings of $75. I bought yards & yards of flannel @ $2.50 per yard that is normally $4.99 & $5.99. I also went a little crazy in the Keepsake Calico area. All of that was 40% off regular $3.99-$5.99. Some of the brand new (& very pretty) calicoes are regular price $7.99 but I didn't get any of those. You can even see some fabrics with the $4.99 price on the bolt and a new bolt of the same fabric is $5.99. It's not a cover-up sticker either. It's the factory applied sticker with all the details on it.

I also noticed that Joann's is getting more & more designer quilting fabric. In addition to Debbie Mumm; they have April Cornell, Susan Winget, M'Liss (I can't remember her last name)Rawley, maybe, and several others.

All in all, a very good day and if hubby goes with me tomorrow, I'm sure we'll be snatching up more fabric. He likes matching colors.

mimom 03-25-2011 05:36 PM

I went this evening, I spent 47.00 but saved 52.00. I guess I did pretty good

sewingsuz 03-25-2011 05:37 PM

I did not get a new coupon paper this week. ????

Dandish 03-25-2011 05:47 PM

Ohhhh...arrggggh...I can't go until tomorrow morning - hope there's some good stuff left! Seems like you all did great!

Taughtby Grandma 03-25-2011 06:07 PM

I did pretty good today. Went in with a 50% off on fabric, a 40% off on an item and the 25% off the whole purchase. I spent $43 and saved $75!! Woo hoo!

np3 03-25-2011 06:25 PM

I went today and left with my coupons. No problems, store not busy, just didn't find anything I wanted. So sad....

Kas 03-25-2011 09:05 PM

I saved 73 and spent 52. I got the GIANT Omnigrip 20 1/2" square ruler. Very excited about that bargain! I'm taking my for a friend coupon tomorrow and seeing what I missed!

Tippy 03-25-2011 09:10 PM

Haven't been this weekend.. but I went last weekend. everything I got was 30 or 40% off .. then went to the checkout.. it was about $180. I swallowed hard and said.. I knew it would be a lot..lol.. the sales clerk said.. well if you buy this 2.99 magazine there are a couple of coupons on the back.. I said OK. she did her magic..........those "couple of coupons" were (4) 40% off and (2) 50% off.. I saved an additional $77!!!!! I was THRILLED!!!

SewsonSaturday 03-25-2011 09:20 PM

well i went today bought 4 and a half yards of snugle flannel, almost 2 yards of the Cars licenced flannel and 2 yards of batman comic strip prints that was 100% cotton. i spent 19.00 save just under 40.00. I think im going to call my Grandma in the morning and see if she wants to go with me again!

trif 03-25-2011 09:55 PM

I get to go in the morning, I'm hoping by quilting buddy and wonderful friend, also a fellow board member can go with me :) way more fun with a friend.

darlin121 03-25-2011 10:00 PM

I spent $55 and saved $61. So can I go spend my savings tomorrow and do it all again? LOL

michelehuston 03-26-2011 03:14 AM

I am going to the Cleveland Quilt Show today (yay, 1st time!) and hope to get some batting tomorrow at Joanns!

madamekelly 03-26-2011 03:15 AM

I went to Joann's tonight, and they had the 'pinking blade' for my rotary cutter for $2.79, so I bought two! Whoo Hoo! I have been looking for them, and when I finally find them, they are clearanced! Whoopeee!

MYWR 03-26-2011 03:23 AM

Ditto ! and I am going again today to a different Joann's- and it isn't all fabric either - grabbing some extra pix frames - I'm there when they open. I was speaking with one of the ladies at the cutting counter. She said the new owners take over next week (probably 4/1/11) and they are already cutting hours of the people at the cutting counters - so - I gues the cutomer service won't be there. I'll get more info from my favorite Jonan's this AM and let you all know. I am leaving all my friend coupons at the counter - so they can use them for others who don't have their own. You can also take a 40% coupon from the next sale and use that and the 25% is off the TOTAL !

quiltingal 03-26-2011 03:53 AM

I live about 20 miles from small Joanns store and went there they did not have the fabric on sale and would not honor it. I could have gone 28 miles the other way to larger Joanns. I emailed Joanns and told them they need to specify in there ad that it is only good at the larger stores. Need less to say I will not go to that Joanns again.

justlooking 03-26-2011 03:59 AM

I am going today! Can't wait.

Scakes 03-26-2011 04:12 AM

Sounds like a fun shopping experience. Wish we had a Joann's closer - maybe I could have some fun too. LOL.

csh 03-26-2011 04:30 AM

I spent 18 saved 24

drdolly 03-26-2011 04:38 AM

Our Joann's is building a new store. They really do not have a lot in the store right now. It is to open in June I believe. Kinda of upsetting when you get the flyer and it is not in the store.

smagruder 03-26-2011 04:58 AM

I had both a 40% of any item NOT on sale or a reduced price. Got 40% off a crib size batting. The brocade I wanted to get the big cut on...... they took $4.00 off the $12.99 a yard... Not as much as I would have gotten with 40% off... DANG it. Anyway, I spent $30 on what would have been $77.00 as I also had the 25% off total sale. I think it was good a deal, not as good as I had hoped though.

taj334 03-26-2011 05:25 AM

I was so pysched to go. But, there was so little for sale I came home with a spool of thread and a few fat quarters. The quarters were 30% off. The batting that is usually 40% off wasn't on sale, nor anything else that I could have used. Guess I'm spoiled by their usual sales. DISAPPOINTED.

kaykwilts 03-26-2011 05:44 AM

I am going today!!

craftymatt2 03-26-2011 06:01 AM

I'm going today to see what kind of trouble I get into, and visit a couple of LQS that are not open on Sunday. I love the new Retro Fabrics that keep coming out.
