I think it would look great!
like those antique copper metal ceiling tiles, they always had a pattern to them.

What a great idea for all those who are bed ridden, in nursing homes and etc.!!!

[quote=galatotesa]Last month I broke and crushed the outside bone of my right foot, and have been bedridden and house bound ever since. While lying on my back and staring at the homely 50's ceiling with squares, I thought of a geat? idea. I'll make a ceiling quilt. One that I can attach to a 10' X 11' frame and hang it from my celing..Has anyone seen or heard of a quilt made for a ceiling? what pattern would be best? Maybe "Trip around the world" in pastel colors?[/q

Hi, I feel your pain-literally-1994 was the year it happened to me. Have you thought about doing some handpiecing? Even a small project would help pass the time. feel better!!

hope you are feeling better,

Do you enjoy hand piecing? take care of yourself

awww, bless your heart. I know that is a bummer. I've had a bum foot since 1979 and it ain't no fun, indeed. But, I've never been bed ridden with it. I hope you get better real soon nd do everything your doc says do.

Quiltinggranny had a great idea though. I do eldercare and that would be a wonderful thing for nursing home residents or anyone that is confined. Wall paper idea? you can hang it (and I don't know why since you paste it, it is called hanging.)from the ceiling, too. Even 12 inch block sections would be great. QG you've got my mind spinning. hahaha Take care of yourself, galatotesa.
Blessings,
Ruth

A possible thought. Use liquid starch to "glue" it to the ceiling. When you want to remove, it comes off easily.

Interesting idea. I like the idea of hand piecing.

Sounds interesting and as mentioned.. do the blocks and attach to the block tiles! Do you hand piece/quilt. Thinking you could do that while you recouperate.. Sorry to hear of your broken foot.. Get better soon.
