Take a break and then go back with a whole new thought pattern. Works for me.

I know it is very frustrating. I just walk away & hope sometime in the future I get over it & work on it again. If I don't then I move on to the next project!

I'm in the middle of making a rather complex paper pieced block and the other night, I decided I should do a couple rounds. Well, after sewing on just two pieces, I discovered I'd sewn them in the wrong places! Rippp! No more sewing that night.

Been there, done that, except it was on a christening gown, beautiful pattern. I made 2 left sides- twice, before I figured out what I'd done. Take a break & come back to it later, when you're rested. It will work out & frustration may not take over.

You're certainly not the only one. Take a break with chocolate, a latte, glass of ??? and walk away. Like the guy said, Starch works!

I am sorry that happened. I can relate and see it clearly as you described it. We make quilting look easy to others yet we all know how important the details are.
I enjoy quiet and solitude when I sew. It doesn't happen often but I so enjoy it when it comes my way. I say this to say I think I make more mistakes when the family tries to join me in my sewing space.
Hope you have a happy Thanksgiving.

I'm so glad to hear that I am not the only dunce on the planet!!! You feel so stupid, after all, "I'm an accomplished quilter". NOT!!! It's very humbling. I agree, take a break, it will all go smoothly tomorrow!

I just have to say that quilting has taught me to be persistent and patient. LOL

Well I watched TV and went to bed. Ready to conquer it again! This time, besides putting up the right template, I decided to make up a little saying or rhyme so I keep track of it in my mind.

A quilting instructor once told me that she never demonstrated the wrong way to do something because your mind latches onto those things. It's like when a golfer doesnt want to hit into the sand, he says no sand no sand to himself and goes that way. The better thing to do is to SEE the right thing.

Thanks for all your support and my dunce cap is off this morning!

I hate that when that happens!!!!! Luckly, I've only did
that once. I agree that when this happens you need a break.

You will have to send a pic when you are finished.
Have a great holiday :-D
