I'm not good at paper piecing. I can't seem to get the knack of it. I did one successful project though. It was a pineapple log cabin wall hanging. Maybe you just need to practice more than I do. But I do love those HST's papers and use them a lot.

I'm a tad dyslexic so paper piecing to me is like patting your head and rubbing your belly!! That being said I am tackling one of her patterns. 'Tarnished Windmill'. I bought the kit several years ago and it was next up on my projects to do. It's a beautiful pattern and the fabric is divine. I've gone slow with this one and find satisfaction in each completed section. It has not been easy for me and I read the instructions over and over again. I feel the effort will be worth it though and have learned a new skill. I think learning helps to keep my brain working better and helps me from getting in a rut. I would encourage you to try if you have the desire to try something new. I have not taken a class on this. I'm about 3/4 of the way done and the work astonishes me. Such crisp points and wonderful curves that I'd not be able to do without the paper piece method. Good Luck. Hope you give it a try!!!

Good luck with your project! I can relate to the dyslexia-type problems, as I'm still coming back from a stroke.
