Personally, the extension tables that fit around your machines are a pain in the butt. The best and cheapest way is something like Prism99 said. I made mine out of boxes, taped together, then the heavy duty clear vinyl is taped over the boxes, then I spray fabric safe silicone spray over the vinyl, works great, now if my FM quilting would improve. LOL

There is one that you can adjust to any machine. I can't remember the name of it - maybe check some of the online shops like Keepsake or Nancy's notions. I saw it at the quilt show and was very impressed I think it was a little more than the Sew Steady but since you can use it for different machines a better value. I did think to myself that if I needed one that is the one I would get, but I have a cabinet that my machine sets down in.

Thanks Dina!!!
I'll keep looking. |
I have one sitting in the closet. Your quilt will catch on the edge and its a real problem.
Finally invested in a cabinet so my machine sits even with the cabinet. No more problem. |
I purchased one for my featherweight, made for the machine.
Tables came with my Janomes What I wish I'd ordered when I got the table for the featherweight was one of these so no matter what vintage machine I was using the acrylic surround would fit it. Best of all worlds http://sewingmates.com/ I don't think these were even available when I bought my featherweight in the early 80's but I still wish I had one ;) |
