I inhereted a Bernina 930 from my DMIL. Still trying to locate the power cord, but I'm told it's around. Sure hope so, from what I can tell, they are discontinued.
My question: Would you invest the money to have this machine looked at, cleaned, etc., and use it? I have a great little Brother LB6770 embroidery machine that's been great but I can tell the Berninia is much more solid. Let me know your thoughts, I need to purchase a walking foot, 1/4"foot, bobbins, etc. Thanks! |
I would think it is worth it. But you need the cord for that.

The Bernina 930 was one of the last all metal machines Bernina made. It's a workhorse machine. If you can locate the power cord I'd say yes get it looked at by a Bernina dealer. That machine is still in major demand & if in good condition worth somewhere in the area of $1000.00. I've had mine since I bought it new in 1983. Only thing it have had to have replaced/fixed were the feed dogs. I wore them off I used it so much.

Is it worth it? Yes.

Power cords are available on-line, so I would say a most definite yes. One of the nice things about these machines is that you can get feet to do anything you can possibly think of.

Yes....My Mom has her 930 and it is better than my 1030....
Keep looking for the cord...a replace ment is going to cost at least $100. |
Yes, definately worth it.
|
I think it would be worth it too :D:D:D

Definitely yes it's worth it. I bought my 930 in about 1978 and it has been a workhorse. It has never had to have anything done to it. It just like a timex, takes a licking and keeps on ticking. They are wonderful machines only thing is they weigh a ton so you won't want to carry them around much.LOL

I inherited my mom's 930 which she loved. When she bought that one, I inherited her 630 or 730, can't remember which. I traded that one in after 23 years and still got $600 to put toward the Viking I bought. I will not trade the 930 as she said it was too good to replace! It is technically my daughter's now, but... anyway, get it serviced, you will love it.
