Inspiration Needed!

Hello there everyone!
I'd like to make a quilt for my little girl's grown up (twin size) bed. Her room is a tropical blue color with pink, yellow, and orange accents and all her furniture is white. I was thinking some sort of more traditional pattern but with the more modern white and bright colors. I really don't know what pattern to choose.
I'm only a moderate quilter and not up to curves or paper piecing or anything yet. Any ideas would be welcome and pictures would be especially helpful!
Thank you so much.

A disappearing nine patch would be pretty and easy. A disappearing pinwheel from msqc would also be good.

I also like a classic pinwheel. Use the tropical colors with white.

I would take a look at modabakeshop.com for lots of patterns that fit your skill level. Right now I'm doing the scrappy Irish chain, using modern fabrics - not hard at all and is looking great. The pattern as written is not the right size, but I believe it would be easy to modify.

You could find the tropical fabric and make her a BQ2 quilt. They are real easy to piece. The bird fabric is a very old Hoffman print I bought on eBay.

I'm not a big fan of disappering 9 patch and the pinwheel pattern looks like a little bit too much bias for me. Here's a picture of her room, don't have the big bed yet, to give you an idea of the colors

A rail fence is a pattern that might work for you. I have one in pink, green, and white....let me see if I can find a picture, in case it might inspire you.... It goes together quickly.

What a fun room! Looking at modern quilts I would suggest nice colourful squares or rectangles sashed & bordered with white. You could add some prairie points in the border if you didn't want it plain. Here's a link to some really neat quilts to choose from. https://www.google.ca/search?q=moder...w=1229&bih=859

This one really looks like fun! http://www.ohfransson.com/oh_fransso...ilt-along.html

Maybe give the pinwheel another thought. Why, you ask?! Because I justfinished a double pinwheel using Eleanor Burns' pattern and a jelly roll of bright batiks, and it is SO easy! No bias edges, it's done with strip piecing! And did I mention it is easy? It's kind of magical, actually, how it comes together.

Sorry, I can't post a picture, because it's at my friend's house. She's making the label for it.

What about "strip" quilt? I'm trying to upload a picture of a modern one I did. Of course, you need to pick colors that coordinate with your daughter's room. (I'm also attaching a picture in case it doesn't upload).
