I bought the extra wide ironing board at our local K-mart. I use it for both quilting and ironing clothes and it works well.

I bought the one at Wal-Mart, too. I just added another cover. The first one was just too thin and showed the metal grids. It's an all purpose ironing board.

I have two good ones sitting in my garage. One I bought years ago and then I spotted another wooden one at a second hand store. Couldn't pass it up. But I use a big board on top of my long dresser to iron. That way I have lots of drawers underneath. No wasted space. Doesn't work for everyone though.

I bought the $50 one at Walmart. It is very sturdy and extra wide. There is a shelf underneath it and iron holder on the end that come off if you don't want it. It has four separate legs. It is a very good all purpose ironing board. Now I have the best ironing board ever:

Thanks for all the info. Guess I need o head to Walmart. I need the "pointy" end for regular ironing (once in a blue moon, LOL).
