Congratulations!! I got myself a Koala studio when I retired and I love it. Now my machines (3) are up and ready to sew when I am.

Congrats on your new toys!!! I agree...its about time!! Enjoy!

Prissnboot 11-03-2010 05:29 AM

YOU GO GIRL!!!! As a fellow dining-table-seamstress, I'm so thrilled for you to get the good stuff! I've drooled over this for quite a while, and finally got a vintage Pfaff Hollywood-style sewing cabinet. Of course it came with an old Pfaff machine I didn't want, so then the challenge of fitting my new machine into the old hole had to be surmounted....long story short (too late) and much sawdust later, she's-a-working! Congrats again!

debbiemoo 11-03-2010 05:34 AM

WOW!! Yes, so happy for you! It's my dream for sure!

maryel 11-03-2010 05:35 AM

You are so blessed to have all your new "toys"! My girlfriend has that cabinet and it is awesome. I don't have a serger yet {am the same age as you} so let us know how you like it!

Tweety2911 11-03-2010 06:05 AM

Ooh, I am so very thrilled for you! Congratulations on all your wonderul goodies.

dphelps 11-03-2010 06:49 AM

YAAAY! You go girl. I feel your pain for having to endure this long without a great sewing space or machine. You are right: Now it is your time. So happy for your joy. You deserve it!

jdavis 11-03-2010 08:38 AM

lsaunder 11-03-2010 07:44 PM

I too, just bought an Ellisimo and an Evolution serger. My inheritance paid for them both or I would not have them. LOVE THEM!!! Hope you have as much fun with them as I have. Don't have much time as still have 3 teen-agers in the house and a daughter getting married in Dec.

purplefiend 11-03-2010 07:48 PM

You'll love it. Congrats.
I have a Horn Quiltmate, had it about 12 years and I love it! Just by changing the insert, I can put any of my 4 machines in the cabinet.

CarrieAnne 11-03-2010 07:48 PM

Congrats!

annette1952 11-03-2010 07:51 PM

bjdemir 11-03-2010 08:44 PM

congrats and enjoy! You have a right to be excited!

marlet 11-03-2010 09:48 PM

I know the thrill. In the last 4 yrs I have bought two sewing machines for myself, (one traded for the newest one), bought myself a new serger and embroidery machine and finally bought myself a Roberts sewing table. Now I feel like I can really sew like a professional. LOL Finished projects might not look professional, but at least I really enjoy my sewing now. You are going to be in heaven, I am sure. Enjoy!!!!!

anicra 11-04-2010 03:49 AM

Good for you!! You'll LOVE your new table. I was in the same boat until my DH surprised me with a Horne sewing center two years ago at age 58. I understand Koala is a step above Horne so I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

mshawii 11-04-2010 06:47 AM

Good for you! I would say you got your Christmas a few months early! Enjoy! Jan

grandmaquilts 11-04-2010 10:47 AM

I too have a Koala cabinet. Just love it. Congratulations!!!

Congrats. You will love haveing your machine in one place and available. I always used my machine on the dining roon table. This summer I bought a used Bernina Artista that came in a Horn Cabinet. I treated my self. After 80 years I finally thought of me first. Glad you did it earlier. Enjoy

kacy 49 11-04-2010 05:03 PM

Good for you you will love it.

darlin121 11-04-2010 05:12 PM

I'm happy and so excited for you! Imagine a 'real' place to put your new Babylock and serger too! I have a Miss Ellie(Ellisimo)myself and I'm saving for serger myself. A cabinet would be heaven, but one thing at a time. Your joy will be double when you sit at that sewing cabinet and sew with your new Ellisimo, that machine is a dream, isn't it?!

Riversong 11-04-2010 06:09 PM

So happy for you!! But I gotta get new glasses. I thought it said you were getting an Eskimo!!

katiebear1, a serger basicly joins a seam and finishes it at the same time. you can go to most machine manufactures web sites to see them. most have videos showing how they work. try 'JANOMI AMERICA" their embroidery machine videos are very good so i imagine the one on sergers is too.

LanaCindy 11-04-2010 07:55 PM

good for you...you deserve to have a nice sewing area. I have drooled over the Koala setups. AND the thought of owning a brand new machine instead of a garage sale basic machine.

sumcoop 11-04-2010 08:18 PM

Be sure to send us pics...Happy that you have such a treat and I am sure well deserved.!!! Happy Stitches!!!
