Oh wow can't wait to see that one. Ain't it fun over the edge and on the other side?

[quote=nursie76]Oh my! I am over the edge right there with you! I see quilt patterns everywhere....I have sketched the design from a divider in a Chinese restaurant, the tile on Ruby Tuedays restroom floor, a mosaic design on the wall of a ritzy hotel...

The floor tiles in the Texas capital building would make wonderful quilt blocks. I have pictures of all of them!!

When people ask what I'm staring at, I smile modestly and tell them I'm writing a book and just thought of something for my main character to do when she........their eyes glaze over and suddenly find they are late for a meeting.

Then I can go back to mentally measuring whatever I'm interested in and fixing colors in my mind.

Don't worry, I was at a tractor pull with my DH, and I asked the man in front of me if he was fond of his shirt, I wanted to cut out the back side of his shirt for a quilt. My DH didn't commit me, he just couldn't believe I asked a complete stranger for the shirt off his back (just for a quilt).

Don't pull a Fons and Porter and cut it out while he's sleeping! :D

LOLOLOLOL I'm glad no one can see me now as I laugh at how this could have unfolded. Would make a perfect comercial.

You have not gone over the edge - you have just joined the rest of us! lol

Me too. I find designs everywhere. A friend gave me some print outs of basket patterns from local tribes. I am eager to incorporate them into quilts. Some have great names as well, such as "frog fingers".

I was watching Andy Griffiin show one day and noticed the banister. I graphed it out for a quilt block.

jojosnana 12-30-2010 01:58 PM

you know what they say, inspiration is everywhere.......what edge?

2livesdown7togo 12-30-2010 03:05 PM

Yep, put down that ruler and step away from the t-shirt! LOL Though in our defense, there are far worse obsessions...

QM 12-30-2010 09:43 PM

So true!! as obsessions go, mine is relatively cheap and has some pretty good results.

LOL! That sounds like something I would do...only I'm not sure what my DH would do if I did it!

QM 01-04-2011 02:00 PM

I would never do that!!! ....but I do tell people that their clothing would do well in a quilt.
