STILL not working right
[quote=Christine27]I like my 1/4 foot, especially the Acufeed one, on the 6600P, but I always have to adjust the needle position, or it's a VERY generous 1/4 inch. quote]
Ditto everything she said. The only part I don't like about it is that because I have to adjust the needle position, I can't use a single hole plate with it. I'd love to be able to get a foot with a bar on the side that we can ADJUST to a proper scant 1/4" :) |

I have the same machine 6600P and I can never get an accurate 1/4" seam using that foot.

I had the same frustration, what is happening is the bottom of the foot is smooth...so they fixed that now with a new 1/4" called the 02 foot. The new one comes with ridges running through the bottom of the foot which holds the material from moving...much much better...this was orginally for the Horizon, but my dealer gave me the new foot for free. Ask your dealer about it...boy it made a world of difference...no longer frustrated and doing the happy dance :-D

I learned with the foot with the flange, so that's the one I'm comfortable with. I really like the clear plastic convertible foot. It's got a metal flange for SID as well as 1/4" seam, or you can use it without either flange. You can use this with the single hole plate as you should not have to adjust the needle to get your 1/4".

My biggest gripe with my Janome 9000 is that the 1/4" foot is over a 1/4" by quite a bit! And if you're using the straight stitch plate you can't bump the needle over. I really don't care for many of the Janome feet. They tend to be plastic and wobble quite a bit, so accuracy is off. It's one of the reasons I bought a Bernina. The feet will put you in the poor house, but they're all metal and last forever. And they're accurate.

I have a Janome and love the foot with the bar. I find if I set the stitch width at 4.5 and use this foot, it gives me a scant 1/4 inch seam. I also have the plastic foot with the red line but don't like it as well.

I also have a Janome with the 1/4 inch attachment. I just move my needle to the right as well, for that scant 1/4 inch. The foot with the red line I use when I am doing decorative stitching and have to follow a specific line marking.
