Never too much red!!!!! Just use color catchers, just in case!!

I don't think there is too much red, but you always need another color to tone it down. There is a lot of creamy colors in there also, so why not add a touch of black. Should be a striking quilt.

A rail fence would look great with these colors. I am doing one with black, white and red at present.

The jelly roll is beautiful. But, you might check out Hancock's of Paducah. (a company in Ky.) They have sales on pre-cuts all the time, you might be able to find something you like more for less money. I do a jelly roll pattern called Cake Walk. This one is from Piece of the Heart. It only uses 20 jelly roll strips, so you can make 2 quilt with one jelly roll. You need 2 yards for the corner piece, plus, 1/2 yard for the binding. I do not do the jelly roll border. This way you can make what I call "companion quilts". They make great wedding gift, I give both to the couple,,,they are coordinated because they came from the same jellyroll. I make the corner triangles different colors too.

I love the red so I don't think it is too much red. I think it would look great in a log cabin block.

i think the fabric is gorgeous and no there is not too much red. I really like the D4P and it would look good with those.. but that pattern won't work so well with jelly rolls. I have some jelly rolls and I am thinking about trying this pattern.

To me you can never have too much red! Go for it! Especially if DIL likes red! Have fun!
