Very pretty! How are you going to quilt it?

At the moment, I plan just a stitch in the ditch. However, if I can ever find time to sit and practice my FMQ then I might try that. I got my darning foot right before my surgery but time has been limited. I get maybe 10 mins of sew time a day, and that is if I am lucky. lol With a 3 year old it is hard to sit and sew for any length of time.

I love the colors, too. And I think your choices for backing and binding are right on!

I'd find a fabric from the line(s) of fabric used for the strips that picks up most/all of the colors. That's what I've done for mine.

On a related thread, I saw a jelly roll quilt that had a bit more prep wprk to it but turned out gorgeous. The strips were laid out onto a design board to distribute colors and patterns. Then each strip was cut into two pieces, where one piece was between 10" and 30". The strips in the top "row" were sewn end-to-end; the strips in the bottom row were sewn end-to-end, and then the end of Row 1 was sewn to the beginning of Row 2. The end result was a wonderful random distribution of color because of the varying lengths of strips. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.

I am looking at Bella Solids by Moda but the orange is out of stock where I plan to order so I am looking at green or blue but it is hard to determine which color would be best.

The alternative to the Jelly Roll Race quilt sounds neat. Might have to try that one day.
