If that's the case then I will be there!! I love % off sales, whether I need fabric or not...LOL

owlvamp 11-17-2011 01:04 PM

I go every year lines or no lines. I don't have a lot to get but need a few things.

ManiacQuilter2 11-17-2011 01:18 PM

THANKS for posting it. It seems I always get my flyer late if I even get one. YES, the lines are terrible but one of my friends found me a walker at a garage sale so when I am tired, I have somewhere to sit down !!!

Sewfine 11-17-2011 01:22 PM

Joann's is 50 miles from me. I wish I could go.

Ripped on Scotch 11-17-2011 01:31 PM

I have to work... but I have gone in the past. I live on the border so black friday shopping is always an option. The lines weren't so bad we were there for the opening of the store and I think the only time there was really a line was when we were waiting to get fabric cut. everything else seemed to go through fast. we did learn though. I would stand in the cutting line with the cart while my sister grabbed the fabric she wanted and then she would do the same for me. it wasn't to bad.

Daylesewblessed 11-18-2011 04:40 AM

Thank you for posting! I have been waiting to find out if fleece is deeply discounted again this year, and it is! I will be there at 6:00 for the best selection and hope to get enough for our Project Linus blankets for the winter.

Thanks so much for posting this link. Can't wait to make the 90 minute trip to my nearest JoAnn's. The sale prices will be worth the gas cost!

mummadee 11-18-2011 04:55 AM

I think not. Unless they get in a ton of new stuff. They didn't have any fabrics that I wanted when I was there last week.

My feelings, exactly. Two years ago, I spent two hours in line for cutting and then to get to the one register they were running. This is just a total waste of my time and the price cuts are just not worth it.

Yes they do, scrappy. I still get them about once a week. Maybe you changed your email address?

agoldencomet 11-18-2011 05:15 AM

Just a general comment regarding JoAnn's coupons, they usually do not let you "double up". That means you cannot use a coupon on a discounted item or two different coupons on the same item. Also, jeanne307, they usually will not let you use coupons on sewing machines or other higher priced items. So read the fine print carefully before you make a long trip.

onaemtnest 11-18-2011 05:16 AM

The first of this month, the 4th, 5th and 6th, in the Oct 30- Nov 12 flyer they had a for friends and for you coupons for 25% off the total purchase, including sale items, there were usual exclusions like electronic sewing machines, AccuQuilt Go and products etc. However, it intrigued me that it included 25% off every in-store purchase INCLUDING sale items.

I like warm and natural batting and it was on sale for 50% off making it $5.99 a yard then 25% off of that made it $4.49 a yard. (For all the math whiz's out there I've taken those numbers straight from the receipt :0) Needless to say I purchased a whole bolt. Their soft and comfy fabrics which is their Minky equivalent was on sale reg $14.99 on sale for $8.99 less the 25% off coupon.

So November 4th was my Black Friday. I detest crowds and the uncommon rudeness that sometimes accompanies usually polite and courteous people, when tempers are short and people are tired (clerks and customers alike). Just watching the evening news on Black Fridays is enough to remind me why I stay safely within the confines of my home on that day.

jarenie 11-18-2011 05:41 AM

Thank you for posting the link. Yes I will be going. I use a lot of Flannel and this is the best price of the year.

Kayaker26 11-18-2011 05:46 AM

I love a sale but NOT that one...I was scared last year and the Hubs said he would pay the differenca as long as we didn't waste the whole day there!

Crafty1 11-18-2011 05:59 AM

I have decided I'm not going out this year for black Friday deals! I'll be traveling for the holidays so I will buy gifts when I get to NJ :)

Judith1005 11-18-2011 06:08 AM

Not going, I detest crowds and heavy traffic. Very claustophobic. I too went a couple weeks(sort of a pre-black friday sale) earlier when batting was 50% off plus additional 20% off total purchase. I stocked up then. Good luck to all who brave it. I hope you get a good deal and stay safe.

jhoward 11-18-2011 06:09 AM

A new Joann's openned last week, within 20 miles of my house. YEAH! I probably will fight the crowds. Flannel is a good price also, on Black Friday.

KarenR 11-18-2011 06:16 AM

REad the fine print. Had a coupon the other day of entire purchase - but not on anything that I had used a coupon for. They should say - those things in big print not itty bitty print.

dkabasketlady 11-18-2011 06:19 AM

It looks like some really good deals!! I'll have to see how I feel on that day & if I want to STAND in line.

I went to this sale at the Ontario, CA Joanns on Nov 5th and it was worse than any BF I have ever been to. I was in the cut queue for over an hour. Would have been there another hour except my friend stood in the register queue just before my turn to cut. That being said, I can't wait for the BF sales. I already have my shopping list ready!

Gramby 11-18-2011 07:11 AM

My local store lets me use the 50% off coupons on the dies all the time! You might try it....

sewmary 11-18-2011 07:12 AM

I go to no BF sales. Nothing is worth the rudeness, shoving, traffic fights to get a space, etc. that occurs. Besides my back can't take standing in line for hours. The computer is my best shopping buddy.

Alex J 11-18-2011 07:20 AM

Thanks will be there

Caswews 11-18-2011 07:29 AM

Our Jo-Ann's is opening up November 17th (which was yesterday and of course I had to work!LOL), but DH promised me he would go with me to Jo-Ann's and he will sit in the food court while I shop !LOL I am sure it was a mad house yesterday, so I am hoping it will thin out by tomorrow !LOL

Last time I went to a Jo-Ann's Black Friday sale- I was there when they opened and got right in and right out, which surprised me. But when my DD went it was a mad house later in the morning !

SunlitenSmiles 11-18-2011 08:40 AM

actually need to check your math

ladyshuffler 11-18-2011 09:29 AM

Thank you very much for sharing the ad...................trying to get as list together for sure!!

JenGaile 11-18-2011 09:36 AM

I love to go to Joann's on Black Friday and wish I could get flannel...however there is one women who goes to my local Joann's every year and is first in line. She heads straight to the flannel and loads every bold into three carts then walks around with it, stands in the cutting line......etc. Nobody else has a chance to even look at the flannel until she leaves. I said something to one of the associates before Thanksgiving last year and was essentially told that that is just the way it goes and as long as she is purchasing they don't care. I suggested a maximum of 10 bolts at a time at the cutting counter to allow all of the customers a chance and it appears that Joann's only cares about making a sale, not making their customers happy.

I do see some things I am very interested in, and I think I will be dropping by there to take advantage of the sales. I just wish they would have had the Accuquilt go dies on sale. I did see the Accuquilt go on sale, and the add was a bit fuzzy for me to read, so maybe the dies will be on sale too! Again thanks for sharing the link!

check e bay or the accuquilt daily deal. That is where I got my dies and it was MUCH less than Joanns

You can find tons of the Black Friday sales flyers for Joann's and lots of other stores at www.gottadeal.com

You are very lucky that you purchased all that flannel last year as the quality of the flannel this year is very inferior than in years past.

IBQLTN 11-18-2011 11:09 AM

I saw an ad that states they will have 25% off the dies and the GO! on sale for $199.

Quiltgirl26 11-18-2011 11:10 AM

So you are able to use a coupon on items that are already on sale?

momto4 11-18-2011 11:10 AM

Hmmmm well idk what to do now. I do not have a whole lot of money to spend so maybe the sales wouldnt be worth it for me. What I want is 50% off right now anyhow (holiday fabric) maybe I will just buy it now and be done with it?

blondeslave 11-18-2011 11:20 AM

I may try it-we'll see.

lfstamper 11-18-2011 11:55 AM

Very tempting! thanks for sharing

God be willing you will get a shopping time in a fabric store. Have a Blessed Thanksgiving

Grace creates 11-18-2011 04:10 PM

I do hope you get to go to the fabric store of your choice, God be willing. Have a Happy Thanksgiving

wraez 11-18-2011 04:13 PM

I went last year for the flannel sale, $1.49 and spent so much $. Yes the lines were terrible, I think I was in line for 2 hrs for cutting and another long line to pay for the fabric. Seems if we are in line 'that' long, they should pay us, :D .

We will be celebrating Thanksgiving on Friday this year so won't be going for the Black Friday sale AND now that I think about it, I have so much of last year's purchase still in my stash. But the Saturday sale is tempting. Tempting. Probably will NOT go, but can't be sure.

sharon b 11-18-2011 04:22 PM

Also notice that the 25 % off is NOT good on the door buster items- so not off the flannel . I went last year , dragged my BF ( he is such a sweetie:) he handled the cart - I grabbed the fabric , was there less than an hour - this year my Mom, sis and friend want to go with me , wonder how many carts BF can push at one time hhhhhmmmmmm LOL

pjnesler 11-18-2011 06:38 PM
