Joann's black friday sales?

Is anyone planning on going to Joanns for black friday/saturday sales? I saw Christmas fabric is 50% off and you can use a coupon if you go before noon to use a 25% off coupon so that would be 75% off!? I am definitely going to go and get some more fabric for Christmas gifts and stock up for next year. Here is a link to the ad hopefully that works for everyone. :)

It is tempting but the year I went the lines were HORRIBLE. Some good deals for sure.

Amythyst02 11-16-2011 11:25 AM

Oh thank you for posting the link!! I was just thinking about the ad for Joann's this morning! I do see some things I am very interested in, and I think I will be dropping by there to take advantage of the sales. I just wish they would have had the Accuquilt go dies on sale. I did see the Accuquilt go on sale, and the add was a bit fuzzy for me to read, so maybe the dies will be on sale too! Again thanks for sharing the link!

sassyg 11-16-2011 04:47 PM

The small print says that the dies will be 25% off

Oooohhhh, I am gonna have to go just for that. Thanks for the info

deedum 11-16-2011 04:51 PM

The lines are so bad on these sales, I don't usually have that kind of time to spend in line. So I most likely will pass, beside I really don't need anything. I need to work on what I got!

momto5 11-16-2011 04:58 PM

Sales and lines around this time of year really do NOT appeal to me...if I can't get it via FedEx or UPS or USPS, I've about decided I don't need it!

masimmons 11-16-2011 05:10 PM

I would agree that the sales are great, but the lines will tend to wrap around the store in my experience and that can be very frustrating!!! The last time I went I spent at least two hours in line on black Friday.

Julie in NM 11-16-2011 05:13 PM

so ou guys got your flier already?
where's mine?

momto4 11-16-2011 05:15 PM

I didnt get my flyer, I just looked at the one online.

cny_sewer39 11-16-2011 05:16 PM

I would DEFINITELY GO if I had a store where I live, but the closest store is 30 miles a way. With no car, I can't go. I hope that for all of you that are going, bring home some GREAT DEALS... & think of me.

50% off and then 25% off doesn't equal 75% off, because the 25% is taken after the 50%, so you actually get 62.5% off.

bnlmom 11-16-2011 07:17 PM

I really do not miss working at JoAnn's ,especially Black Friday!:)

jmabby 11-16-2011 07:20 PM

Yeah, I need the fons and porter mechanical pencil and some templates, I guess I should say I want, not need

QuilterGary 11-16-2011 07:29 PM

Last year DW and I bought 100 yards of flannel that I have not used up yet. And oh yes the lines. May pass this year.

Lyncat 11-16-2011 07:53 PM

I am a big fan of online black Friday shopping in my jammies

Lori S 11-16-2011 08:05 PM

I'll be there for batting! Its 50%off plus the 25 %. Its never as cheap as it is during this sale. I filled my cart last year. I got there at the doors opened , went right to batting... then right to check out. I was home back in bed by 6:45 AM.

Amythyst02 11-17-2011 02:16 AM

Oh thank you so much to those that could read the fuzzy print!! I am definately going, and honestly I have never once shopped on black friday, but this year, I think I will try it! At least at Joann's .... I know my kids love to shop that day, and have wanted me to tag along several times. I just give them my list! But I am not buying as much this year, I am actually making Christmas presents instead. So no shopping for them, but I know I could not convince my son to go to Joann's for me, and my daughter is going to be hitting Target first thing.

SevenupinNC 11-17-2011 02:30 AM

I'm debating!

Scrappy Gram 11-17-2011 02:54 AM

Does Joann's till email coupons? I haven't received any in a long time.

Buttons922 11-17-2011 03:34 AM

Last year I took my daughter with me and she got in line and I went and got everything I needed and I only had to wait about 5 minutes when I was done.

plainpat 11-17-2011 03:36 AM

I no longer do Black Friday shopping.Granted there some great buys out there, but life & limb is also worth something & I'll keep mine safe & warm at home.:o Besides, I've already done a bunch of shopping on line & have a 50% off coupon from Joanns....good on line or in store. My kind of coupons!!!

mymsmess 11-17-2011 04:28 AM

Alot of great deals along with even greater headaches.

nhweaver 11-17-2011 04:43 AM

The sale price would be actually around 63%, $10 fabric at 50% off is $5, then 25% off is $3.75. 75% off would be $2.50. I like to know the tru prices, thought that too and my (then 7 year old GS) GS took out his calculator and showed me. That guy is now an Engineer major at Univer of De. I am a bargain hunter,

Has anyone done their Black Friday shopping online at Joann's? Do they have the same sale prices online that day? Same coupon deals? Just trying to decide if I want to battle the lines - or if online is just as good.

dd55 11-17-2011 05:07 AM

thanks for posting the link. i have made my list, but the thought of standing in the lines is making me pause....

Opal Jane 11-17-2011 05:13 AM

There are many coupons for JoAnn's on retailmenot.com (see below). If the lines are too long, you can always shop on the internet.

AFQSinc 11-17-2011 06:20 AM

Are the coupons for 50% off and the extra 25% off in a mailed out circular or can they be printed and brought in? I'm thinking this might be a really good time to replace my cutting mat.

Deborah12687 11-17-2011 06:46 AM

The new Joann's in Elk River Mn were I live finely opened this week. I haven't gone yet in fear I may spend to much. I am finely going to check it out this weekend when my hubby can come along and remind me that xmas is coming and can't afford more fabric. etc etc etc! My friend says they have lots of good buys for the grand opening.

Cheshirecatquilter 11-17-2011 07:17 AM

I was in my local JoAnn's earlier this week, and I thought I saw a sign on the Christmas fabric saying 50% off. Why wait until Black Friday?

Charleen DiSante 11-17-2011 07:17 AM

Yeah, me too but I miss the girls and feel bad for them when the company doesn't allow the managers to staff enough people to take care of the lines. Especially on a day with so many deals and so much money being made.

My husband and I will probably go... simply because he said he wants to get me a sewing machine for Christmas. they are going to have one of their standard Singer Machines on sale for 60+ dollars that day plus the additional 25% off would make the machine like 45.00. So we will probably go lol.

SUZAG 11-17-2011 10:51 AM

I have never shopped Joanne's on a Black Friday and try to stay at home and out of stores that day but their ad this year really has me thinking about going. One young gal who loves the BF sales said that Joanne's is terrible on BF but gave me these suggestions... Go the day before and pick out the fabric you want so you can just go in and grab the bolt...She said every store that she has been to on BF puts out a numbering system, grab a number as soon as you arrive and then get your stuff and lastly, go early...

I haven't made up my mind yet if the savings are worth the drive and aggravation but I love a bargain!

I get them intermittently, when you do get them and you go in the store, have them scan the bar code on the back and supposedly, you will continue to get the flyers and coupons. I usually do this first so that if I don't buy anything, I don't forget to get it scanned.

This is exactly what my sister & I do every year. One of us has the list of all the items to purchase and the other stands in line. Perfect plan every time! :)

annthreecats 11-17-2011 11:31 AM

[/FONT]I have never shopped black friday sales and I won't be out shopping next Friday either. I can't go out early because my dog likes to go out walking at that time of the morning, so I'll just chill at home. I may check out the website and see if there is anything there worth clicking on. Hope everyone stays safe and gets great deals.

This is my favorite mode of shopping after Thanksgiving, too. I hate the crowds. Infortunately, must get some fabric for quilting at church so I may have to go.

They still send email coupons and they usually have your name on them so if you do not use them often enough they will drop you. Same with flyers.

Gramma B 11-17-2011 12:57 PM

Thank you, thank you, even has more sites one can go on!

I hate to bust your bubble, but it really isn't 75% off. It is 50% off and then 25% off the total after the 50% off. It actually comes to 62 1/2 % off. That is still a good sale!! Not trying to be a smartee here, but just an awareness. Enjoy the sale - I will be enjoying family staying over from Thanksgiving.
