I buy fabric from my LQS. When I need notions or a pattern, if they can order them for me I get them there, if not, I order on-line. I prefer to keep small business in business. Big stores generally have cruddy service and their prices aren't good enough to make it worth the aggravation.

Exactly - in my area, those items are called "catchers" - I guess, related to the American phrase,"Whaat's the catch?"when a deal is too good to be true.

Walmart got me. I got up at 5 am for a 32 inch television only to find out it is out of stock. This is why I am not a shopper.
